Vehicle has a random overheat issue. Starts, Stops, runs and drives. Might be a day, might be a week or a month. Acts like a stuck thermostat. Bottom hose is cold when temperature gauge pegs. Spits coolant from overflow. At 88,000 miles I did head gaskets/head bolts/water pump (New German)/thermostat/timing belts/idler/roller. At ~95,000 I changed the coolant tank and cap, new 2nd thermostat then. At 97,000, still fighting random overheat, I replaced the radiator with a new Nissen's unit, and a 3rd genuine Rover thermostat. Still has random overheat! Everything works. A/C, heat, heated seats, power sunroof. Just don't trust it, and sick of working on it. Ask questions if you have them. Does get check engine lights for mis fire and usually coincides with the variable intake codes. Close to needing tires.
