Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1997 328i. For a car that is 20 years old it looks and runs pretty good. There are "dinks" here and there, but overall the body is sound and most importantly the car starts right up. There are a lot of miles on this car but I was using it to drive to work up until a few weeks ago. I am only selling because I was given a newer car from a family member and no longer need this one. The car is pretty mechanically sound. As for the body, there is a small rust spot on rear driver side fender, but not much other rust damage. I would say the only real immediate need would be two tires for the rear. There are a few issues that I know of. I don't consider them show stoppers, but I want to mention them anyway: -cruise control not working. I drive locally so never an issue for me and never had it checked out. -rear passenger side brake light doesn't always make a solid connection, so when car is started up you'll see a "brake light failure" message. Brake light DOES WORK though, Just hit "CHECK" button on instrument panel and light goes off. -rear driver side door lock sometimes won't work (like now!). Lock must come loose from connection so door won't open. Then miraculously it will somehow work again. Anyway, not an issue for me since I rarely, if ever had passengers in the back. Passenger side rear door works, so think of it as a 3 door car!! -Finally, I am sure the "check engine" light will come at at some point. Seems to be standard operating procedure for most old cars. My mechanic has said it had to do with gas cap, but he always just reset and car always passed inspection. So, If you're expecting a "mint" car, then this is not the one for you. If you are looking for a station car, or car for school, or just getting around town, this is worth a look at. KBB lists value of this car from $1,600 ("FAIR" condition) to $1,800 ("Good" condition). I'd say car is closer to "Pretty Good" so the starting bid and Buy It Now prices are very reasonable.
