Vehicle Detail

That the dawn of motoring took place in France is a fact where not many persons are familiar with. Formerly producers of tools, coffee mills, umbrella spikes and corsetry, Peugeot commenced its long-standing connection with transportation in the early 1880s when it added cycle manufacture to its portfolio. The world’s oldest surviving motor manufacturer, the company commenced car production in 1889 with a steam-powered tricycle but soon abandoned steam in favour of the internal combustion engine. Also one of the pioneering firms of the French motorcycle industry, Peugeot followed the familiar progression: first adding proprietary clip-on engines to its bicycles before building complete machines of its own manufacture. The first Peugeot bicycle was manufactured in 1882; at this time the firm was known as Peugeot Frères but, as more family members joined, changed its name to Les Fils de Peugeot Frères in 1889. Worldwide the Peugeot-make became well recognized back in the 1970's because of the tv-series 'Columbo', in which series one of their 1950's cars was used (see image). This ultra rare 1934 Peugeot sports-tourer is for its age still in a pretty nice condition, though the the complete machine is showing after 83 years traces of use and age (patina), where also the paint & chrome are not absolutely perfect. It has been in fairly regular use until recent, meaning that this four-stroke single starts instantly, runs ok, where also all gears are shifting fine etc. On the bike are several accesories out of the correct period, like a brass tire-pump, a rear-passenger seat, rear (adjustable) footrests, a leather sidebag, oil-cannister and a horn. This motorcycle comes with a European Certificate of Origin (Title) which official document will be issued in your name and states the make, model, year of manufacture, displacement, weight etc, plus an official bill of sale from my company here in Belgium. Furthermore I’ll make sure that all the correct export-paperwork will be in place before the bike leaves from here, which documents will make the process of importing it into the US an easy ride. -On this listing I’m offering a special (fully sealed) crate, careful packing and physical shipping from here in Belgium to a US CFS as close as possible to you at my expense, meaning that I will pay for having the bike crated and all handling etc. plus the ocean-freight charge, where you are responsible for all charges at your (US) end, like entry-, port-, handling- and broker-fees etc.If you want any additional information about this, please ask before you place a bid. Furthermore, when you want to receive some better photo's of the bike/shipping, or want to recieve more information about this item, just let me know. Payment can be done either by PayPay, wire or credit-card. -Additional information to this listing; I only offer shipping by sea, where of course we can advise you on forehand about the process of importing the machine into your country and can help you to the contact-details of an ever so experienced US import-broker. When you are the high-bid buyer, I will ship this machine at my expense from here to one of the following Canadian destinations (container freight station-depot); -Calgary ALB-Charlottetown PEI-Edmonton ALB-Halifax, NS-Moncton NB-Montreal-Ottawa ONT-Quebec City QUE-Regina SAS-St. John's NF-Toronto Vancouver BC-Winnipeg MAN ..To one of over 60 US destinations, Or to another destination (please check whether I can ship to there before you place a bid). For Canadian buyers, check this link regarding importation; https://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/motorvehiclesafety/safevehicles-importation-1338.htm For US buyers, like can be read in the link, this antique combination is because of age exempt from US import-duty and EPA regulations; https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/278/~/importing-classic-or-antique-vehicles-%2F-cars-for-personal-use The crate will safely sail in a sealed container and the shipment is fully insured for eventual damage/loss.I always pack vehicles myself, only use certified crates plus new packing-materials and deliver the crated machines in person at the Antwerp warehouse of the shipping-company (see images) Furthermore I pay for having every shipment insured against damage or loss during the complete process of handling and sailing. Of course I will inform you about the complete process of shipping and provide you all the information you need from the beginning on and send you pictures of the process of packing and actual delivery at the Antwerp port as soon as these processes are completed.
