I am selling the "beast". I bought the car 6 years ago from a friend who had used it as his "construction" vehicle while he worked on rehabbing houses. The interior is not the prettiest, got some nicks and bruises from his transporting lumber and paint. I needed a good winter transportation means as I own a Miata Mazdaspeed that goes nowhere in the snow. I have to say this has been one of the best cars I have ever owned. I put a new battery last year, new windshield (was cracked when I bought the car) heater blower motor, air filter, water pump, brakes (rear), changed the oil regularly and new tires. This car has never let me down and always got me where I needed to be no matter how deep the snow was here in greater Kansas City. I drove by others who were stuck. I named it the "beast" because that is what it is in the snow, my go anywhere beast. I lowered the price because I had it looked at and it needs the following work done: Sorry for the confusion, wanted to get the info on the listing right. Went back to my car guy and we pulled the records, did new upper and lower right side front control arms, drive shaft/Axle/left and right, tie rods left and right in January 2016 , needs new calipers and brake rotars rear, break pads front. Does not leak oil or other fluids. Air conditioner went out this year, tried charging it, charged it last year and it worked fine. Radio works fine also. Has some exterior hail damage that was on it when I bought it, exterior nicks and bruises you would expect from a 1997 and is missing the lower fender cowl, was not on it when I bought it and I never put one on it. As they say, you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear". Also missing one headlight washer cover, as seen in photos. With a little work and TLC this car has another 100,000 miles in it. If you are looking for a beautiful show boat, this is not the car for you. It would make a great in town commuter, but until the brakes are fixed, if you are taking it a distance I would tow it. Starts right up for me every time. It is registered where I live and currently licensed and I drive it to transport and pickup things that won't fit in my tiny car. If you are mechanically inclined and can do the work yourself, it would be a great purchase and last you for several more years.
