Vehicle Detail
Very nice condition first year GT750. Not a show bike but a good runner. This bike was a very original bike and had additional parts from a second 1972 added where needed to improve it around 15-20 yrs ago. Please look closely at the pictures. The prior owner went to town with an abrasives/polishing kit on mostly the pipes and a and couple of the aluminum covers. They could certainly be made to look better with some proper polishing or plating. The seat cover is tired but the original padding is good. I just put a brand new battery in it. Starts right up and I just took it for a decent ride and on the freeway. The only thing that I can see which is missing is one of the turn-signal side reflectors is broken. Most of the paint is original but the side covers were painted with the correct code paint a long time ago. They are now slightly crazed from the cold winters. The bike has always been garaged since I've owned it and properly stored in winters. Everything works as it should the exception being that the speedometer indicates a slower mph that actual - around 1/2 speed. Not sure why but It is 45 years old... I have only ridden it a few times per year since I bought it around 10 years ago. The tank was properly sealed by the prior owner (looks like he used Kream) which seems to be holding up very well. The bike runs reasonably well and looks fine but would certainly respond well to a weekend of cleaning and fiddling. I'm afraid that if I do that, I won't want to sell it anymore which has actually happened to me with other bikes in the past so that is up to you... These rare first year GT-750s are appreciating rapidly but I need to make room for another car and have too many bikes. Buy it, enjoy it and watch the value go up and up... Feel free to ask questions and come take a look if you're local. Check my feedback and bid with confidence. I will probably be listing a '61 Vespa VBB and an '83 Ducati Hailwood soon.
