Vehicle Detail

1978 Pontiac Trans Am Z code VIN for Pontiac 400 carLow Reserve! This is an opportunity to grab an eye catching 1978 Trans Am at a very reasonable price and put it on the road. For those of you in the areas of the United States that salt the roads in the winter, road salt was not used here. This T/A does not have the rot caused by road salt. The T/A could have used a wash job before the photos were taken.Engine is an OLDS 455. I was told that after idling for about 10 minutes the engine knocks. I have never heard the engine run and car is sold as-is. I am not sure of the exact condition of the engine. A previous owner had a nickel-dime homemade wire type throttle linkage set-up. The linkage stuck open when the car was being driven and that apparently ran the motor extra hard while the engine was being shut-down. Please review the engine photo as a radiator is not installed.Radiator included and in trunk. Automatic. Open rear end, not sure of the ratio. The car was repainted but the car was not prepped for paint at every area well. You can see imperfections underneath the paint in a number of places. The car looks nice from several feet away though as you can see in the photos! It will make a nice driver and looks good! The graphics make the car stand-out. I cannot confirm if the repaint was with #24 Martinique Blue. If not it looks close.Buy a T/A you can enjoy and use as a daily driver instead of a T/A that you just look at in your garage because you do not want to risk getting it scratched! VIN 2W87Z8L16619 Z code came from the factory with a 400. Subframe connectors underneath. Comes with 15X8 snowflake rims. The driver’s door panel is in the trunk. The driver's door is missing the outside door handle. I do not know everything the car will need. It is a project car. Cowl tag is missing. Possibly a #24 Martinique blue from factory but I cannot guarantee that. Windshield is cracked.Shaker flanges are tucked into hood braces. I am not sure of the actual miles on the car. There are a couple of small rusts holes in the trunk. I did not pull the carpet and inspect the floor pans, but to the best of my knowledge they are OK. Car is sold as-is, and you may send someone to inspect the vehicle. This is a pretty nice looking 78 Trans Am. Fix and flip or fix and enjoy! Car is sold as is without any warranties express or implied, including warranties of merchantability or fitness of use. Email me via eBay with any questions or with your phone number if you want to discuss the T/A. I can also email or text the photos on this post to you for better inspection.U.S. bids only. $250 non-refundable deposit via PayPal. Balance to be paid with a cashier’s check from Wells Fargo or from US BanCorp (US BANK) only. Sorry, just from those two banks and there are a lot of these around the USA. Shipping costs to buyer. On Aug-28-17 at 10:30:41 PDT, seller added the following information: Please note that this T/A is a Factory 4 Speed model - at some point the 4 speed was swapped-out for an automatic. You can convert it back to a 4 speed! Factory 4 speed T/A's are difficult to locate and have a high demand. On Aug-29-17 at 08:58:25 PDT, seller added the following information: Will add a photo or two with the T/A washed off hopefully no later than tomorrow. It does look sharp! On Aug-31-17 at 19:22:51 PDT, seller added the following information: Added photo of Performer Intake showing the intake application is for an Olds 455 engine. I have not got photos of the T/A washed yet. If that is an issue please advise. It might be sometime Saturday before I can post.On Sep-02-17 at 15:30:43 PDT, seller added the following information: Added 5 new photos with the T/A washed. It looks very nice.On Sep-02-17 at 15:40:25 PDT, seller added the following information: I viewed the floor pans from underneath the car and I did not see any rusted-out areas. The carpet looks new.
