Vehicle Detail

I bought this bike about ten years ago. It has been surprisingly reliable and easy to maintain. Starts right up and runs great. I used it to occasionally cruise the back roads on summer days, or give the kids rides around the neighborhood. These are great for relaxed back road riding. It can go about 60 mph for short bursts, but the sweet spot is about 45. If you are looking to go 80 safely on the interstate, please buy a Ducati or a Hayabusa. This is not the bike for you! Kick and electric start. This is a Chinese made bike. It is essentially a knock off of a 1939 BMW in form. The Russians stole the design from the Germans, then gave their tooling to the PLA (Peoples Liberation Army, China) when they retooled in the 60's and started producing the bikes that gave shape to the current Urals. Beijing banned new registrations of CJ750's in the early part of this century and essentially put the factory out of business. Many bikes were dumped on the US market through ebay, which is how I got this one. Whole, original bikes are becoming rare and will only go up in value. Parts are still readily available through ebay and several supply houses dedicated to CJ's. This bike is a lot of fun and gets a lot of smiles. To my eye it's a work of art. I'm only selling due to recent retirement and trying to simplify and live as cheaply as possible. Time to pass it on to someone who can enjoy and treasure it. Has 3 new Duro tires, Chinese spare mounted, plus another unmounted Duro spare. We upgraded the wheel bearings with high quality modern Japanese bearings. The bike looks great. there are some areas of paint on the sidecar that are peeling - mostly on the inside walls. There is one small bubble on the front top of the sidecar, and some cracks in the nose (paint). The bike itself has a battery compartment, but we installed longer cables and use a tractor battery in the sidecar trunk. A lawn tractor, or car battery lasts for years like that with little charging needed. Has reverse gear. Four speed transmission. Odometer and speedometer are in KM. Please note: Vermont does not issue titles for vehicles over 25 years old. I do have the original certificate of origin from the importer. I also have a current VT registration, which can be used to title it in any state. I will also send a VT DMV Bill Of Sale. Bike is inspected in VT through August 2018. Has a valid sticker. I will try to get a youtube video posted this weekend. I own a good trailer and can deliver for $1.00/mile. If you are very far away, please contact me to discuss shipping. FYI the odometer reads 2335 KM. Good luck bidding. And it has a fitted rain/dust cover for the whole bike and sidecar, in purple nylon with Chang Jiang logo
