Thanks for looking at my 1957 Bel Air. It is a remarkable car. It was originally restored in 1990-92. Careful attention was paid to every aspect of the process. Today it remains in beautiful condition. It retains the original 283 and Powerglide combination that it left the factory with. Both the engine and transmission were professionally rebuilt during the restoration process . A correct four barrel now has replaced the original two barrel combination. The original color was Adobe Beige and Sierra Gold. It is now Matador red and India Ivory. The color change was done properly including interior floorboards and door jambs . The paint shows very well for its age . However there are some minor chips and and door dings . The restoration in the engine compartment, interior, and trunk was guided with reference to the Classic Chevy International Club (now Ecklers) restoration and judging guidelines manual. The floor pans and trunk were solid. They were not replaced when the car was restored. There are about half a dozen small welded in patches. Once again the work was done with care and it shows. This is a turnkey, sorted out 1957 Chevy. I would drive this car across the country with confidence. I also have a four page summary of the restoration as it occurred. The document includes many of the relevant casting numbers and date codes. I can email it on request.
