WELCOME, BIDDERS! Hello, and Thank You for looking at my Volvo auction!I'm celebrating my 20th year buying & selling on eBay! I'm selling this nice '03 XC70 for my fiance' who inherited another vehicle and now needs to get this one off her insurance policy. Honestly, this was the car of her dreams several years ago, and she's really enjoyed driving it. She's been a happy owner (second, we think) of this car for the past ~2-1/2 years. I will attempt to describe her car in detail, knowing it as I do. If you have questions or need any additional photos, please message me and I'll be happy to oblige. I suppose I can even arrange to post a video. My fiance' carefully maintains her cars! This is clearly reflected in the cleanliness of the interior and the excellence of the paint, which is quite good for any vehicle that's ~14+ model years old. There is no rust on the finish or on the undercarriage that I can see, and all the running gear is in great shape mechanically. This car is in very good condition inside and out and it runs well! The climate control and sound systems work fine and have no issues whatsoever. Accessories include sunroof (it works okay--but she wouldn't use it) plus a cargo net, retractable cargo cover and the usual spare tire, jack etc. as shown; mostly all in nice cosmetic as well as functional condition. This is a non-smoker's car and there are no unusual odors. The engine doesn't smoke either and the exhaust system is in fine shape. This car doesn't burn any oil between changes, which have been done at regular 3000 mile intervals. The turbocharged gasoline engine starts right up and runs smoothly. The 5-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly; the car has all-wheel drive; you'll never need to worry when driving on snow & ice. Also, the alloy wheels are -all- in outstanding condition. The vehicle has spent practically all of its life in central VA. The original tan Berber carpeting is in incredible shape. A set of rubber floor mats is provided. The leather seats have worn surprisingly well and have no tears. The interior panels only have a couple of minor dings, but the pleather emergency brake and automatic shifter boots are both peeling as shown in the photos. There's a small ~1/8" pit (not really a dent) on the hood; there's a photo here that shows that, too. The windshield was replaced about a year ago, and we'll remove the rear window stickers when it's time to hand you the keys (there are two sets and both work fine). All lights work, as do the front and rear wipers (rear washer needs pump replaced). Exterior trim is a bit faded (gray) but everything is there, solid & firmly attached. The cruise control works great! My pet peeve when I drive this car is the lid to the center console--it's loose and comes off! It needs to be glued or replaced. Really, its a minor annoyance we've lived with 'til now, so it'll become the new owner's issue! Two of the (Goodyear) tires are a year old, the other two are perfectly serviceable. The brakes were replaced a few months ago. I replaced both rear lift gate pistons a few weeks back (not too difficult on these, as it turns out) but it will sometimes not stay up. ABS light comes on and it stays on, and that is indicative of a series of solder joint failures in the instrument panel's main circuit board that will need to be addressed. There are companies who perform this service (some here on eBay). Except for replacing a major engine computer last year and occasionally wiggling the ignition key to get it unlocked, this has been a reliable, comfortable & safe car in town & on the highway. It handles well and is very predictable in all conditions. These are among the safest cars on the road, and I wouldn't hesitate to put a family member in it. It has extraordinary capacity to haul your stuff, with or without rear seats folded down. Lots of space! This car has been -really- well-maintained, and I have no doubt it can serve a new owner for years to come, so if an XC70 has always been the car of -your- dreams, well here is good news: there are -lots- of these on the road and plenty of parts as well as "indy" mechanics who could keep -this- vehicle running forever. It will be kinda hard to let this one go, as it has become a part of our family, but knowing the eBay market as I do (I did mention I've been selling on here for 20 years?) I'm going to trust that you bidders will set a fair price, and I am starting this auction for the incredible low price of $9.99 and with NO RESERVE! A non-refundable deposit in the amount of $500 will be due within 24 hours of auction's end, with balance and pick-up to be arranged within the next seven (7) days or your deposit shall be forfeited. Payment of the deposit must be via Paypal (no exceptions unless you're bringing me cash) and the balance may be cash, wire transfer, or certified bank check that I may still need to hold for 7 days. I am an experienced, reasonable seller and I won't put you through hoops, but sorry, no international bidders (or deliveries) and no bids from users w/ zero (0) feedback, unless I approve your bid beforehand. Failing that, I will simply cancel your bid, so be sure to message me if you have questions or unusual circumstances. Car is located about one (1) hour from Richmond, VA and it is being marketed locally, so prior sale -is- a possibility. If you are within striking distance from Richmond, VA please feel free to arrange for a test drive, again by messaging me via eBay. I'll be happy to assist you when -you- make plans to pickup, including meeting you at the RVA airport. I'll also deliver the vehicle within a ~100 mile radius but only after you've paid for it in full, and in any event you will -not- receive a refund of your $500.00 deposit -unless- I have substantially misrepresented the condition of the car.
