Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 2008 BMW R1200R motorcycle. I bought this bike last year from the original owner. Since purchasing this motorcycle, I got a Goldwing and I find myself taking that more often than the BMW. I can't justify having this bike without riding it so.... up for sale it goes. This bike is in amazing condition and only has 5500 miles on it. No issues anywhere and it starts and runs as good as the day it was built. I went over the bike in detail and couldn't find any ding or scratch to note. No smoke, no leaks. All the fluids (it's air cooled, so there's not that many fluids: engine oil, gear oil, brake and clutch fluids) were replaced last year when I purchased the bike and I've since changed the oil twice (once last fall and once this spring); the battery was as well. Tires are in fair condition and are original to the bike. No cracks or anything, but I was planning on replacing them at the end of this season. This bike has a ton of options and extras on it: It has the factory computer from BMW that reports average mileage, range and current temperatureIt has factory heated grips, which are remarkably useful in colder weatherIt has ABS brakes which could save your life somedayThe shocks have been upgraded to Ohlins at a shock-ing $1500 cost (I still have the original shocks and will include them with the bike)The bike has a Sargent seat, which is super comfortable. Something was spilled on the seat and there is a mark on the passenger side, but that doesn't affect how it feels. The original (unmarked ;) seat is included with the bike. The bike has factory BMW side bags (keyed to the ignition) with BMW saddle bag linersThe previous owner wanted a rear hugger and spent around $500 on a real carbon fiber one special ordered from somewhere in GermanyI've got the second key along with the factory owners manual Clean title is in my name with no leins or other issues. If you've been considering a BMW or an R1200R, this is the one to get. There aren't many low mileage ones available and certainly not many that have had the care and attention that this one has had. I'm willing to work with a shipper if you set one up, but it's summer, so why not fly into Appleton (ATW)? I'll happily pick you up from the airport and you can have a nice adventure riding it home. Local buyers are welcome to have a look. On Jul-17-17 at 12:57:06 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention that this bike has a Garmin GPS unit included, as seen in the pictures. The GPS was purchased with the bike, meaning it is from 2008 and the maps aren't current and the internal battery is dead. It pulls power from the bike when the bike is running and works fine then. I wouldn't consider it a super-valuable addition to the bike but it does work okay, given its age.
