A beautiful 1998 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Convertible. The SL500 is one of the finest examples of Mercedes-Benz engineered cars of its era, and represents fun and fantastic experiences. The vehicle has gorgeous red paint. The vehicle has always been maintained and always been operated with full synthetic oil. Complete electronic controls at your fingertips for your driving comfort. Infinite seat adjustments as well as telescoping steering wheel to fit every drivers needs. The convertible top is in good shape. The "one button" control for the operation of the electric top operates flawlessly. All of the hydraulic cylinders and controls for operation of the top have been rebuilt and/or replaced. All bushing for the soft top frame have been replaced with Urethane bushings and should last for the life of the vehicle. The convertible top work was quoted at $8000 by the Mercedes dealership and has all been completed for worry free convertible top operation. The vehicle has had the cooling system updated. New radiator, thermostat, belts, and hoses. All work performed by Mercedes dealership for $2850.00. A few small items to attend to. The a/c system needs recharging and a $120 filter per the Mercedes dealership to blow cold air. Driver side seat has a side seam that needs to be re-sewn. A few splits in seat bottoms as shown in pictures. Also, left rear quarter panel has a small crease at corner as shown in pictures. Right front fog light lens cover needs replacing. Passenger side a/c vent cover needs replacing. Electric key fob doesn't work. Needs a new one. Operates on hard key fine. This is a fine example of some of Mercedes best German engineering right out of the Stuttgart, Germany Mercedes factory. Turn the key and listen to the 5.0 liter V-8 start right up and is ready to go ! No leaks or smoke. Runs great ! The electronic 5 speed automatic transmission has been serviced with new filter an fluid. Operates smoothly and shifts flawlessly. Put the top down, raise the rear electronic wind screen, and go enjoy a fantastic ride. Super fast car with a 153 mph top speed according to Car & Driver. You will get compliments wherever you go. These fine Mercedes convertible roadsters continue to escalate in value over the years. Hagerty's Classic Car valuation shows this vehicle worth $10K in good condition.
