Up for No Reserve Auction is a very nice, first year, example of the venerable Honda Transalp. These go anywhere machines were overshadowed by their only slightly more athletic sibling the Africa Twin. However, there is no denying their utilitarian prowess. The accessible seat height, 21" front wheel, 600cc twin engine, and relative light weight make these a favorite for motorcycle adventurers. A few years ago I took one along a diabolical route over the Atlas Mountains to the Sahara Desert. Through water crossings, rough terrain, and extreme temperatures the bike didn't miss a beat. Though these Hondas can take a beating you may not wish to administer one to this particular example, it's quite nice. Though the paint and bodywork aren't perfect, they are very good. The frame, swingarm, and wheels are near flawless. The only part that is showing real age on this bike is the stock exhaust. Though it appears to be dent free there are various scrapes and scratches, and the headers display some corrosion. In my opinion, this is a collectors quality bike, though not a museum piece. As the Eagle Eyed among you will already have noticed, this bike is sporting a British number plate. I personally, collected, packed, shipped, and picked up this bike at port in the U.S., overseeing its entire trip from Yorkshire to Tennessee. It is a classic bike (25 years old+) and registration should be easy. I will provide the new owner with the British V5 title document, copies of the import papers, and a bill of sale. I will require a $125 deposit within 24 hours of the auction's end. The bike is located in Jonesborough, Tennessee.
