Vehicle Detail
The story behind this super-rare 1971 Honda CB750 K1 is amazing! This bike could be a one of a kind K1 in this color scheme. I am a vintage Honda Motorcycle collector and purchased this bike in 2016, as an investment from the Motorcycle and Model Train Museum of Wisconsin (they were liquidating some of their collection to expand their facility). I have put on less than 20 miles on it! The history of this bike is that this motorcycle was originally obtained from the estate of a motorcycle dealer who had been closed for 35 years who decided to have an auction and sell everything in the store after their father (the store owner) had closed the facility prior to his death. The doors remained locked and this bike sat dormant for the last 35 years until it was purchased in 2015. This bike was the original owners pride and joy. He ordered it specifically from Honda with the Honda silver paint tank, which was not normally available as a US import in 1971. He hardly ever drove it, in fact it had less than 100 miles on it when it was purchased by the Motorcycle & Model Train Museum from their estate in 2015. The museum folks took it back to their motorcycle shop, expecting to have to do major work to it, but nothing major was needed. They gave it a tune up, new plugs, fresh gas, changed fluids, new tires and typical maintenance, and it ran fantastic, where they put on about 600 miles showing it at motorcycle shows etc. I have done nothing to the bike except keep it clean and ride it around a little bit here on Marco Island, she’s a beast and runs like brand new. Still has some factory yellow on some of the bolts and little stickers from the factory (look at pictures). Personally, I would not make this a daily driver, it’s in such good shape I would just keep it low mileage and watch it escalate in value! More about the bike: the chrome is excellent, the paint is excellent, the seat is excellent, the rubber and tires are excellent, it’s as nice a K1 as I have ever seen anywhere. Look at the pictures closely there are no surprises. Still has the yellow paint on some bolts, little factory sticker on the brake light etc. It has been stored throughout the winter in a climate controlled garage and started periodically and driven around the island just to make sure to keep the carbs running smoothly, battery charged etc. The only non-stock parts are the tires & battery as far as I can tell. The nicest unrestored 1971 CB750 K1 I have ever seen. Prices on these are really starting to skyrocket. Payment should take place in the form of a $500 non-refundable deposit through Pay Pal, with the balance to be paid within 5 days via a certified check or money order drawn on a U.S. Bank through which we can verify the funds. Shipping cost of the motorcycle, if you choose to ship it, is the responsibility of the buyer. We will work with you to arrange a time for you to either pick up the motorcycle yourself, or work with your shipper to arrange a pick-up date. Haul bikes is a great shipping option (1-888-428-5245), I’ve used them 5 times and they have handled all the bikes with TLC.
