1970 HONDA MINI TRAIL CT70H! 4 SPEED! Up for auction is my Beautiful 1970 Honda Mini-Trail CT70H! The H model is the 4-speed manual clutch model and is the rarest of the Honda CT 70’s, only being produced only in 1970, 71, 72. How many of us learned how to ride on one of these?! This Honda Mini Trail 70 is titled in the state of Indiana in my name. I bought this Mini Trail 70 to use as a rider. It was an older restoration that still shows very well. The restoration was done several years ago and the paint has several very small blemishes. I have pictures of the areas that are blemished and have them on the listing. Around the headlight bucket and headlight ring are some small chips. The bolt holes in the chain guard and some very small chips on the swing arm. There was also a rusted area where the seat latch connects to the frame/fender. The rust has been eliminated as far as I can tell. A reinforcement plate was put in place instead of welding in a new patch. It is sturdy and I cannot tell a difference between original metal and the repair when the seat is latched. Also, during the restoration non-factory Honda bolts, nuts and washers were used. I am a restorer at heart so those had to go! Those were the bad points, which aren’t many for an aged restoration. Except for one thing – the engine smoked like a locomotive! So, in order to sell this beautiful Trail 70 there was some work that needed to be done, and it was all done. The engine was expertly rebuilt. New cylinder, piston, rings. The head was good and we installed new valve guides, valves, valve springs, keepers. It is basically a brand new head. A brand new clutch, timing chain set and ignition components. The engine case was bead blasted and painted period correct Honda silver. The original Honda Cloud Silver is no longer available but there are a couple out there that are spot on. So the engine looks like it came from the factory. This engine is like new. There is a new carburetor that is a very high quality reproduction from CHP Honda. Their reproduction parts are excellent in visual quality as well as performance quality. It starts on the first kick, just like the factory Honda’s did in the day. I went through the whole bike replacing all of the non-factory Honda hardware with the brand new Honda hardware. I source all of the parts that I can through my Honda dealer in town to support my local. I have restored many of these Trail 70’s and have been through this whole bike. A new battery has been installed. All lights, dash lights and horn work like they should. Brakes are excellent and the tires are new Bridgeston Trail Wings, which were factory equipment and still have the nubbies on them. New wheel hardware really completes the look down low. The seat, grips, speedo, everything is great. A factory tool kit is on board underneath the flawless seat pan. Please contact me through Ebay with any questions.
