Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 2004 VW R32. 1 of 5000 for the model year of 2004. 1 of 2000 in Deep Blue Pearl. Unlike the less desirable 2008 model, this is a 6 speed manual which appeals more to the true enthusiast. I have provided 10 photos to show the condition of the car. As you can see, it needs some work to put it back to its former glory. I do not know the full story of the car as I purchased it from an insurance auction, but I can only speculate that there was light front end damage at one point. I say light because there is no frame damage. This car does have a CLEAN TITLE. The front end has been converted to a Jetta front end (hood, headights, bumper and fender). The bumper does not fit quite right as it is an aftermarket product. Additionally, the paint work on the hood, fenders and bumper does not quite match the rest of the car. As you can see from the photos, the car is missing the side skirts as well. On to the interior. The seats currently installed in the car came out of a 2002 GTI 337. This car does not have the seats it came equipped with from the factory. Also the passenger side seat appears to have come from a car that had the air bag deployed. The factory R32 steering wheel is not present, and the air bag is missing. Needless to say, the air bag light is on. Mechanically the car is run and drive, however there is an issue with the engine. I do not know what the issue is specifically, but a little digging by a mechanic could determine the issue. I do not have the time or the resources to determine the issue. There is a tapping noise and the car doesn't seem to idle right. The rest of the drive train appears to be in good operating condition. I have had this car for years with high hopes of fixing it up when I had the time, but one thing I do not have is time. The market value on this vehicle in top condition is upwards of $15,000 and I'm hoping to get a fraction of that. A buyer could purchase a separate parts R32 for a couple thousand dollars and use the parts to get this car back to where is needs to be. To someone with the time and a little money, this car would make a great investment. I have placed a reserve on the auction for the amount of money I have in the car. This car is being sold AS-IS, Where-IS with no warranty expressed or implied. Non-Refundable deposit of $500 required within 24 hours after the end of the auction. Pick up must be arranged or delivery can be provided for an additional cost. Thanks for looking! Jim
