* 1978 FORD F-250 RANGER XLT * * FIRST YEAR SUPER CAB 4WD! * * 6.6 Liter, 400 CI ! * * FACTORY AC ! * * LOW MILES ! * Before you and up for bid is my 1978 FORD F-250 RANGER XLT Super Cab 4WD Pick Up. The particulars of the truck are as follows: * One family owned, non-smoker Colorado ranch truck. Primarily used to pull a hay wagon with other varied duties. * ONLY 68,106 actual miles. With the trucks ownership known to me, I believe the miles to be original to the truck. * First year that FORD offered the SUPER CAB in a 4WD. Part time 4WD, 2 HI, 4HI, 4LO * WARN factory manual hubs, easy click operation * An special order truck manufactured in Kansas City, not lot purchased. * Ordered with the optional 6.6 liter, 400 ci V8. Fires right up on the first turn of the key, holds a steady idle and runs cool. * C-6 Automatic Transmission, shifts smoothly throughout and into reverse. * XLT trim level * Factory AC, all components are present, though it is not presently blowing cold * Dual operational fuel tanks * One repaint during the mid '90's in factory code P7, ( Cinnamon Glow/Tan ) * NO RUST ! Dent repairs to the bed were addressed at the time of the repaint, and have again been sustained along with some paint bubbling. ( see pics ) Not a winter use truck and therefore no exposure to winter corrosive agents. (salt, mag chloride, etc.) * NO accident history, just ranch associated bumps & bruises * These 6th generation FORD trucks are purported to have utilized the greatest amount of galvanized metal. 8' bed in good shape with working tailgate * I removed the carpet, as it was original and showing age. While I would not order a ranch truck with carpeting, it protected the floors of the cab as is evidenced by the pictures. * Excellent seat belts, front & rear * Excellent door panels, kick panels, sun visors, and glove box w/operable light * The dash pad does have minor cracks * The headliner is in good condition * Both doors lock & unlock manually, or by key * Working period correct TEKONSHA brake controller * Original glass throughout, the front windows roll up & down smoothly, the wing windows open & close properly.The SUPER CAB windows open & close properly. ( optional ) * Sliding rear window * NP205 transfer case, DANA 60 rear, DANA 44 up front. * The front seat has just been reupholstered given to years of "in & out" wear to the driver side. The rear is the bench type as opposed to the jump seats, it is original, flips down for flat storage, and is in good condition. (see pics) * Power steering, power front disc brakes * Recent service includes new belts, hoses, filters, fluids, plugs, wires, distributor cap & battery. The exhaust is new from below the manifold back. At the time of the pictures, the cap and wires had not yet been installed. * Nice chrome front bumper, no dents or pits * First year egg crate grill along with square headlamps on XLT & Lariat trims. * Original steel wheels in good shape, the tires are fair. * Cruise control * All safety features are fully operational. Lights, wipers, horn, etc. * Excellent heat/defrost, all fan speeds are functional * Decent weather stripping * All knobs, stalks and switches are present, there is no lighter element, though it is operable * Working instrument cluster * JVC Stereo w/Blaupunkt speakers At 40 model years of age, the F-250 is in good overall condition. It starts, runs, drives and stops as it should, in either 2 or 4WD. While it does present with some character bumps and bruises, it was a ranch truck. It is ideal as a daily driver, work truck, or an excellent platform to take to the level you envision for your classic 4WD truck adventures. These 4WD Super Cabs are becoming increasingly difficult to source. As a first year offering, collectibility is assured. Best of all, it is a rock solid truck where it counts, the floors, cab corners, firewall and frame. You are bidding to purchase the F-250, not to be the first to "look at it". Thank you. Inspections are welcomed and will be facilitated to the best of my ability prior to the auction concluding. The truck and I are presently located in S.W. Florida, Naples/Ft. Myers vicinity. Shipping and/or transportation is the sole responsibility of the buyer. I do own a single auto transport hauler. Delivery is possible within the lower 48 states for $1000.00. ( non-negotiable). While I am confident that the truck could be driven home safely to anywhere in America, I do not advocate it. Older trucks are just that...old. Miles from home, in an unfamiliar location, is not the place to become acquainted with your "new" old truck. Get it home first, I always say. With that said, if you choose to fly in and drive home, I will gladly pick you up from the S.W. Florida International Airport in Ft. Myers, or the regional airport in Punta Gorda. * I do not have a litany of auction conditions. I do, however, have a few simple guidelines. History has shown that if an individual is not willing to respect auction rules, they're just as unlikely to honor a purchase commitment. Please bid responsibly. * I have set a reasonable and fair reserve/buy it now for the truck It is commensurate with the condition of the truck, the low miles and ownership history. DO NOT ask what the reserve is, as I will not disclose it. Bid what you can afford and are willing to pay for the 1978 FORD F-250 Ranger XLT Super Cab 4WD truck that you see before you. * A $1000.00 initial payment is due via PayPal within 24 hours of auction close. NO EXCEPTIONS. The balance is then due and payable within 7 days thereafter under condition and arrangement made between myself and the buyer. * The balance is to be paid via a legitimate bank to bank wire transfer, as it provides a documented record of the transaction for both parties. I DO NOT accept PayPal for the entire purchase, only the initial $1000.00 payment. * I require that the winning bidder contact me by phone within 24 hours of auction close to discuss arrangements regarding the pick up/delivery, and balance payment. * I will accept cash in person for the balance if you are to fly in and drive home, provided that it is within 7 days of auction concluding. * If you are "new" to eBay, have 0% feedback, or excessive negative feedback, you will need to call me prior to placing your bid, and express your intentions. If you do not call prior, your bid will be cancelled, and you will be blocked from further bidding. This is to preserve the integrity of the auction from disingenuous bidders. * The truck and the title to the truck will not be released until payment in full has been received. Upon receipt of payment in full, I will overnight via FEDEX the title and bill of sale to the new owner. If you are to fly in and drive home, I will offer the option of hand delivering these to you upon your arrival. * Clear Colorado title in my name. eBay provides for only 24 pictures.
