The XJS went through a redesign from the drop nose to this style. Back in the day this was considered the ugly red headed step child. Not so much anymore and this 84 V12 is a beauty. She is in no way perfect, there are a few spots of peeled paint on the arches and one spot of bubble on the right rear quarter. The clear on the hood and the top of the fenders is crazed. The interior has some signs of wear but very little considering the car is 32 years old. Every part of the coupe is original including what I would guess is a factory installed car phone. Car runs and drives without issue. The dash brake light is on, we haven't looked into why but after looking at the brakes and finding them in acceptable condition, I would have reason to think it is the ebrake switch. We had Main Line replace both front calipers and the right rear wheel bearing. This is the only work we have done to the car. Motor runs perfectly the transmission shifts smoothly and there are no odd pulls or vibrations. I am not sure the state of the A/C but everything else I tried on my 45 mile test drive worked well. This car was a daily driver so we have no reason to believe that would have issues if you drive it home. Please message with your questions. Often cars we list here will either not be of the exceptional quality that Main Line insists upon for its retail lot or the vehicle will have enough wrong that it does not warrant the expenditure to bring it to "as new" condition. It doesn't mean the car is bad, it just means that it just isn't for us. It might very well be for you. Most often these cars will sell at thousands under retail. Fairly often we will list our vehicles "without reserve" This doesn't mean that we start them at a dollar, we start them at a price with think is bottom of the barrel and go from there. When we list we also put a "buy it now price" We do this for those who want the vehicle and don't want to take the chance of being outbid at the end. The BIN price goes away after the 1st bid. The first bidder on a no reserve auction is the winner unless he or she is out bid. After the first bid, the vehicle will sell. We will alway attempt to describe our vehicles to the best of our ability. We will clearly state if we believe that you can drive it away or if you should have it shipped or pick it up on your trailer. Clearly, with most vehicles we sell we will have only a passing knowledge of their history both from a collision history or a repair history. We look them over carefully, we drive them when we are able to and try to give you a fair assessment of condition. Be always aware though that your opinion of condition and our opinion may differ. We ask in the strongest terms that you come and look at the car before you decide to bid. If not please message and ask questions. At the end of the day, if you purchase from us, we want you happy with your purchase. This only makes sense. If we say it needs a starter, but runs, then you have to put a starter in it to say we didn't describe it correctly. If we say it run, we know it runs because we had it running.
