Family has three other grocery getters - one of which, an old Mercedes wagon, has been brought back to life and will substitute as my tote-stuff-around vehicle. - Pickup is owned by its 80-year old 'car guy' who can coax out 30 MPG cruising at a steady 65 - aided by it's Ecotec3, 5.3L (331 CID) V8 engine which can cruise by sipping unleaded fuel (even E85) when supplied to only 4 of its 8 cylinders. This is combined with its 3.08 highway rear axle ratio (limited slip differential) and 6-speed transmission with its top two overdrive gears. Power is rated at 355 horsepower; - During my ownership, it's had three service visits for oil/filter change, tire rotation (original, full-size spare remains unused) and safety check. Visit in October also involved a bracket replacement required by a Chevrolet Div recall; I receive monthly OnStar monthly diagnostic reports. December report shows remaining oil life of 72% and other pertinent service factors. - Some $2000 of extras added by owner include: custom leather, French-seamed, professionally-installed front seat covers, Patriotic bug shield, easily folded or removed soft tonneau cover, bed and tailgate mats, HD side steps; mud flaps and chrome exhaust extension from Chevrolet ; - Interior and exterior present virtually as new or, at most, slightly used; minus a few touched up scratches to the bed. It has never seen ice, snow or salt-laced roads. Both front and rear wheel wells have felt covered poly lining rarely provided on pickups. I've been a pickup driver since my Dad bought a new '52 Ford F1 for our dairy and have driven several through intervening years. For several reasons I consider this one to be the perfect pickup, and one very similar to current model: -With four doors and side steps, entry and exit for up to 6 passengers is easily facilitated without resorting to a reduced-space cargo area of the crew cab.This one's bed is a full 6' 6" long; -Despite the Off-Road Z71 Package and Monotube Rancho Shocks, ride, comfort and noise isolation compare to that of a 60's Fleetwood or Escalade Cadillac. Thanks to it's 18" alloy wheels, handling approaches "sporty." Braking is enhanced by discs at all four corners. I should add that my 75 yr old wife loves the handling and the full view from the cab and has been the duty chauffeur most of our trips - Some features I've enjoyed are the wide-vision driver mirror insert, cargo bed lights (both above and inside LED), easy lift/locking tailgate, corner steps within the rear bumper to ease bed entry, easy-clean chrome bumpers, driving/fog lights, tire pressure monitor, stability control, adjustable steering wheel, two glove boxes and other storage compartments, adjustable lumbar, backup camera, 8-inch touch screen, MPG readouts, 110V outlet, bluetooth connectivity, radio that still contains a CD slot and a handy small-items slot. Never used, but factory equipment, is the trailering package (hitch recepticle and pre-wiring). Also features hill-decent control. A clear title is in hand, this pickup is located in Cypress, CA.
