For 2000 the Ford Econoline was the best full-size van on the market and made sense as an alternative to large SUVs. The 5.4-liter V8 gas engine generates more horsepower and torque than previous years and a number of features that were optional in previous years became standard in 2000, including four-wheel antilock brakes and a handling package. This XLT is equipped with cloth interior, power windows/locks/mirrors, AM/FM cassette, air conditioning, front bucket seats and a rear bench seat. New Michelin tires were put on in November and at that time the ball joints and stabilizer links were also replaced. This one has been converted to a wheelchair van and is equipped with a Ricon power lift that will handle up to 800lbs. The doors open with the same cordless/wireless remote that operates the lift, and the floor of the van has an EZ-Loc latch. The wheelchair-bound passenger of this van passed away recently and consequently the family no longer needs this van. It was always well-maintained and runs and drives great.
