This 1997 Mercedes-Benz SL320 Roadster in in very good condition inside and out, and it runs and drives like a dream. This one happens to be the 40th Anniversary edition, and just 250 of these were made (500 SL500's were made, making the 320 even more rare than the V8) The 40th Anniversary SL320 is easily recognized by the Quartz Blue paint and Royal Maple interior wood trim, both exclusive to this model. A pristine example of one of these cars sold at auction for over $18,000. This one is not perfect, but it is very, VERY nice, and available at a price that won't break the bank. The Quartz Blue paint shines all around - no fade spots. The exterior is in very good shape with no notable dents or dings. There are a couple of light scratches, but nothing that detracts from the overall appearance of the car - it looks great. This is one convertible that looks good with the top up or down. The roll bar is power-operated and deploys automatically if needed. The hard top is also with the car, and also in excellent condition. The soft top is in outstanding condition and it works perfectly. The interior is clean, and also in very good condition. The leather seats have no holes or tears. Both front seats have power controls with memory, and they are individually heated. The cargo area is spotless - just like the rest of the car. This Mercedes-Benz has some nice comfort and convenience features: Power windows, locks, and mirrors; Remote entry; Cruise control; auto air conditioning, and more. note: The stereo DOES NOT WORK. Safety features include dual air bags, side air bags, anti-lock brakes and ASR traction control. The "Royal Maple" wood trim was only used in the 40th anniversary SL320. (it is real maple wood that has been dyed) The wind screen and storage cart for the hard top are with the car. The 40th edition owner's manual is with the car. The 3.2 liter I6 is rated at 228 hp and 232 lb-ft of torque - this one runs fantastic. It always amazes us how well these SL roadsters drive, It seems no matter the age or which model you get, they are smooth, solid and a pure joy to drive. This one is no exception. By the way, there's nothing wrong with the power this I6 puts out - it is very responsive, and the car has PLENTY of power for navigating city traffic or passing on the highway. Plus, it gets better fuel mileage than the V8. No rust or rot under the car. Current mileage is 87,582. This car may be driven, so mileage could be higher by the time the auction is over.
