Vehicle Detail

For sale is a 2004 Volvo XC70 with 10,4500 miles. I purchased this vehicle from a dealership in Philadelphia 2 years ago at about 89,015 miles. The car was a dealer trade-in, and was in very good condition. In the last 2 years, I have systematically performed maintenance repairs and upgrades to make sure the car was in top condition. Listed below is a list of maintenance and upgrades I have done on this car, as well as the cost. Majority of the works were done by the most reputable shops in this area: Scotts Specialties and Expert Volvo with receipts to verify the work performed. 1) New oil change right after purchase with Castrol Full-synthetic 5w-40 (the correct grade for European turbo charged vehicles), K&N oil filter; oil filter change then performed every 3000 miles; estimated total $450 2) Fuel filter replaced with OE grade replacement filter imported from UK, $120, October 2014; 3) Cabin air filter changed with upgraded active carbon replacement filter, $55, October 2014; 4) Installed 5 all new spark plugs, Denso Iridium High Performance: $180, October 2014; 5) Replaced all 5 ignition coils with high Performance Blue Coils made in Germany, purchased from Swedish-auto-lamps, $590, November 2014; 6) Flushed and refilled cooling system with genuine Volvo coolant, $120, December 2014; 7) Flushed Transmission, Refilled with the correct Mobil mineral based transmission fluid (99203), 2nd flush and refill performed two weeks later to insure complete replacement of the fluid; added Xado metal-ceramic transmission treatment, $450, December 2014; 8) HID headlight conversion, with OPTION-7 55 watt HID system, $280, December 2014; 9) Replaced front and rear wind shield wipers with Bosch Premium type, $40, January 2015; 10) Replaced front headlight wiper, $40, January 2015; 11) Replaced front struts and all strut mounting boots & bearings; replaced rear shocks and mounting hardware, all shocks are German made better-then-OE SACHS struts/shocks, Alignment performed after installation, $1480, June 2015; 12) Replaced entire PCV system, which is crucial for engine longevity and performance at the mileage, with genuine Volvo oil trap canister and hoses, carbon deposit removal was performed including turbo intake and PTC valve, $ 1020, July 2015, 13) Replaced bank 1 oxygen sensor (post-header) with Bosch OE grade, $180, Aug, 2015; 14) Replaced both front springs, $350, August 2015; 15) Replaced battery with brand new Interstate, $160, November, 2016; 16) Exterior detailing performed with Barrie Riff Hand poured wax; 17) Replaced upper engine mount, $160, November, 2016 This car has a 3rd row seat! The car has been driven less than 500 miles and garage kept since August last year, therefore most of the upgrades are with very few miles. This Volvo xc70 runs and handles very well. It has lots of power and accelerates like a sports car even under the most demanding driving situations. I routinely get 30 mpg on highways, and average 24 -- 25 in mixed driving. The total amount I have invested in maintenance and upgrade during my ownership exceeded $5,000. This shows in how this car drives. The exterior condition is very presentable for its age, the paint is shining, and free of major defect. There is a small dent on the front passenger door, which is not eye-catching. There are some scratches on the bumpers which are not obvious. There are some very minor dents on primarily passenger side but nothing significant. The interior is in good condition as well. There is no rips on head liners, leather seating surfaces, door panels or plastics. Air conditioning works very well. The shifter knob park release button needs a new pin but it still working well. This would be an excellent AWD sports wagon for years to come after the new owner address the only remaining issue currently in need of attention/repair. Despite excellent maintenance, the engine started to consume oil in November 2015, and it would have minor smoke at low speed when turning, usually visible at times when driving in the garages. I have taken the car to a reputable shop for diagnose. I was told that cylinder#2 has lower compression which may indicate valve seal, and/or exhaust valve related issues . The diagnosis was not conclusive, however, and I was told that this could rather be something simple because the car drives really well. This would not be a complicated repair for an experienced shop or perhaps an enthusiast. With all I have invested in this car, and the fact I love its performance and features (a true European all-wheel-drive sports wagon, so much more fun than most others on the market), I have decided to let it go. I purchase an xc60 last year, and this car has just been resting in its space. I could get the above issue fixed, but I simply no longer have time with my new work schedule. The listing price is a steal even considering the repair cost. My Loss is your gain! It can be deceiving to see a used Volvo for sale with a low price, only realizing many crucial maintenance items have not been done. This xc70 is just the opposite as you can see. It is currently driving very well despite the issue, and it can be a perfect car for someone who is willing to fix the problem and enjoy an excellent sport wagon for years to come. The price of this xc70 is set very low, given the maintenance and upgrades, even when considering the issue needing to be addressed. I intend to accurately describe the condition of this vehicle by disclosing any defects or imperfections I have known. I believe honesty is the best quality a man can have. However, I may not be aware all potential issues may exist for a car which is 12 years old. There will be no warranty of any kind written or expressed. If you buy the car, and decide you have second thought, I will understand and will not obligate you to finalize purchase. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
