Our Current ListingsAbout CABS Classics 1963 Chevrolet ImpalaScroll to bottom for more pictures What You Need to Know We're proud to offer for your consideration this highly desirable 1963 Chevrolet Impala. It's rare to find a car from the era with only two owners. It's past is easily traced from the time of it's build in St. Louis. It was sold new at a dealership in Kansas City and bought by it's current owner from the original owner in 1995 in Saginaw, MO. The current owner and his Father did most of the restoration work in the few years following the purchase. The car has spent the majority of it's time since the restoration in a climate controlled garage. The body color is Emerald green with an Ultra white top. Only Dupont/PPG paint products were used and the paint looks great still today. The wheels were purchased in 1998 and are the popular 100 spoke triple chrome Dayton wire wheels, 14x7. Each wheel has an individual serial number. The Impala does come with the original hubcaps. The fender skirts are an after market add on the current owner did when they painted the rest of the car. Dual antennas were added, one being a dummy antenna. The fleck stone paint in the trunk is original and 90% plus all there with just some random chips here and there. The 283 motor isn't the original motor but is the correct sized motor that the car came out with. The current motor was pulled from an early 70's pickup and was rebuilt in 1996. The motor has 305 heads, a mild cam, and a standard .30 bore/hone. Approx. 30k miles are on the engine since the rebuild. The oil filter was changed over to a spin on modern filter instead of the canister. Sitting atop the Edelbrock intake is an Edelbrock carb. The dress up parts are all Edelbrock performer series - aluminum script valve covers, breather, and matching air filter housing. The car does come with the OEM air cleaner housing. The transmission is the factory two speed powerglide and was rebuilt in 2000. The exhaust is 2.5 inch aluminized piping and glass packs. The floor pans are all solid and all the body mounts have the wear you would expect on a car of this age but are functioning as they should. Rockers are in great shape. The interior is mostly OEM except the headliner, dash pad, and rear deck have been replaced. Carpets and seats all looked good with no rips or major stains. The car has a Kenwood AM/FM CD player installed. The original AM radio comes with the car and is believed to have been a working radio when removed many years ago. Please note in the photos that door and kick panels would need replaced if you wanted to bring the car to show level. Parts to replace both door and kick panels would be under $400. All the stainless and chrome is OEM. The Impala comes with a California Car Cover custom fitted to the car. Cowl tag decoding is as follows:Style 63-1847 - 1963 Impala 2-Dr sport coupe 8 cylBodySL - St. LouisTrim 853 - Aqua interior - clothPaint 918 - Azure aquaACC. F-C F-tinted windows C-padded dash The owner states the transmission slips a little when cold but operates smoothly once the cars warmed up. The owner also says a slight ticking noise is coming from the passenger side bank and his mechanic believes it's being caused by a loose lifter, likely at the cam lobe. He's been driving it like this for some time with no issues, but we wanted to make you aware of it. More photos of the car and parts coming with the car can be seen via the photobucket link at the top of the auction. Despite this we cannot guarantee that every gauge, light, option, etc., will work as it should. Given the nature of the classics we sell these components can be working at one moment and not working at another moment. It's common these types of components will need upkeep or attention. Unless otherwise noted the classics we sell for our clients are mileage-exempt, meaning we do not know the actual, original miles. The information listed is based on the current odometer reading and cannot be used as fact. Most of these vehicles do not have Carfax or similar history reports, unless the vehicle is 1981 or newer. We always recommend shipping the vehicle versus a long road trip. We work with the best shippers and will be glad to assist you in getting your new investment to your garage.
