For sale 2001 GL1800 Gold Wing Motorcycle. The bike has many options included to enhance your riding pleasure on the king of touring motorcycles. But, lets talk about the upgrades to enhance your riding pleasure, like the Sierra Electronics Antenna. Sierra Electronics developed an antenna system that will give you the best possible performance from the CB with maintaining an attractive appearance. They developed a fold over assembly which accepts a regular 3/8 24 thread CB antenna that is thin black and individually tuned on a GL1800 to ensure good SWR. The passive mast is internally wound with nylon line to duplicate the look and size of the CB antenna. Visit their websit sierra-mc.com for more information. Next up, bar risers. After several hundred miles on my wing, I would experience some pain right between the shoulder blades. After reading about this on the Gold Wing forums, the solution was bar risers that offer three different positions to enhance your riding experience. I have the bars set 2.25 inches back, 1 inch higher, and 2 inches narrower. After this add on, I can ride forever with no pain. They can also be adjusted for bars up 3/4 inch or bars down 1/4 inch. You don't have to buy my bike, but when you do buy a Gold Wing and if it does not have this upgrade, you and the passenger will be regretting it. No doubt the Gold Wing is the standard for which all other touring bikes are measured for performance and comfort. But, the one area this bikes clearly lacks in "TOTAL" comfort and confidence is with the suspension. Keep this in mind, this bike weighs over 800 lbs without gear and without you and the passenger. The solution to the wings soft suspension that produces bouncing, bottoming, chattering, and wobbling of the front forks is the MEGA MONTY by Traxxion Dynamics. I had the MEGA MONTY installed by our Authorized Dealer located in Evansville Indiana. The MEGA MONTY included all the following upgrades to the suspension: AK 20 Cartridge Kit, Springs and Fork CapsFront Fork BraceAll Balls Steering Head BearingsTraxxion Rear Shock and Springs along with new braided lineTraxxion Billet Triple Clamp Set Read up on this one folks, this upgrade alone was over $3,000 and worth every penny of it. Once again, do your research and buy a Gold Wing that already has this installed. Check out their website at traxxion.com for more information. Ok, now for the some bad news. You will not have any surprises when you arrive to pick up your new bike. I will point out all the flaws and they can be seen in the pictures. Mustang seat, the rear passenger back rest had a hole in it and I did a home repair kit. Does it look perfect, no but it does look better than a hole? The molding on the sides has one tab missing that holds them against the contour of the bike. If you do your own maintenance, these have to come off for changing your air filter. It was bound to happen and not noticeable accept now that I pointed it out. The front fender had some holes in it from some Eagle ornaments that were on the bike. I filled in the holes with rubber grommets and the pictures make it look worse than actual. The rear tire will need to be replaced some time next Spring. There is still several miles left on it. The front tire is in very good shape. They typically last twice as long as the rear. Have Bridgestones front and rear. Left passenger storage compartment has a tab missing for the door. The door opens and closes as it should, just making note. You might have noticed this bike doesn't look like your traditional 2001 Gold Wing. It does not have the gray belly pan or emblems or even the terrible gray paint on the frame or the dull looking aluminum wheels. That's because I blacked all that out. For all those items that have been painted, I sanded them up, and smoothed them back out. Applied a good self etching primer and have used an automotive high temperature paint. All this was done two years ago and still looks good. When you buy it now, will require $500 deposit immediately. Full payment in 7 days or less. Contact me if you need additional time.
