Vehicle Detail
This is a really cool Land Cruiser! I bought it several months ago from a local tow company. I was going to fix it up for spring season in the Rubicon but I have since bought a Wrangler TJ. This truck starts right up and drives. The license tags indicate that it has been sitting since 2010. I have only put a total of about 8 miles on it so I cant say much bout the drive ability. But it is in very good unmolested original condition and my belief is that it is just a tune up away from being a good runner. I does have a significant exhaust leak which I haven't diagnosed yet. since I purchased it I have only had the wheels polished and the rear tires replaced. I also bought a new stereo to replace one that was removed. The only modifications that I have noticed is that a previous owner installed an aftermarket stereo. I will add more photos soon On Oct-31-16 at 21:06:12 PDT, seller added the following information: I had some free time to get a few shots of the interior and the engine. I will keep adding more as time allows. Today I realized that the rear hatch shocks need to be replaced. And although the truck is 34 years old, the interior is in remarkably good and original condition. (except where the speakers were cut into the panels.) There is very little wear on the interior for the age. I will add more soon. Thank you for looking! On Nov-04-16 at 22:21:56 PDT, seller added the following information: I would like to thank everyone for their interest and questions. I have been promising updates on the car as the mechanic gets things checked out. He talks so fast about everything I have trouble keeping up. but some of what he says is as follows: This car has a lot of Vacuum hoses compared to modern cars and most of them seem original and are dry or brittle. some are actually cracked and he is changing them. He has installed new spark plugs and he says that the wires are dated from the late 90's but they look to be in good condition. He recommends new cap, rotor, and wires. The tank is half full and the gas is starting to turn bad. he recommended draining and refilling with fresh fuel which i may due depending on what else he finds. The transmission input shaft or gears are a little noisy. He is going to check, drain and fill the transmission with new gear oil. (the engine trans and transfer case are all covered in oil and he thinks the tranny may be low) the engine side cover(s) appears to be leaking or seeping engine oil and he recommends re-sealing the covers. The engine oil looks great, but he recommends an oil service anyways which i Ok'd. The paint looks very good but it appears to be a very amateur repaint (or perhaps a low end production shop.) there is some lifting on the top edge of the passenger side front fender. No obvious signs of prior damage or repair except on one portion of one of the rear quarter panels. He says it doesn't look significant. There is no actual rust so far. only surface rust on the undercarriage. I did notice a couple of small rust spots in the drip rail on the drivers side. But I didnt have time to inspect them closely. The brakes are functioning fine but the petal has too much freeplay. he recommends a brake inspection, flushing with new fluid and bleeding. ( new pads or shoes if necessary) He said he will have more for me after he finishes the trans and oil service and drive test. Ill keep updating as long as ebay allows. Thanks for your interest.
