Vehicle Detail
This is a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria (P71) Police Interceptor. It has a solid engine and transmission. However the engine does have some lifter noise but it drives fine. Replacing the oil a little sooner and using seafoam every once in a while never hurt anyone and certainly helps if the noise becomes a bother. Transmission doesnt have any issues. The ABS light is on, after research this is a fairly common thing this year. The sensors for the ABS have gotten dirty or loose to cause the light to turn on which disables ABS. personally i like it without because it shortens your stopping distance but you do lose that control of cornering if you lock up the tires. The body is in fairly good shape with a few exceptions. it needs new paint. the current black is peeling to reveal the blue that was on from the factory. The passenger side front quarter panel is dented. The rear bumper has a crack but not major. The suspension is a little bouncy but it will still take bumps like a champ. its made to go over bumps and survive, not be a friendly ride. The interior is in very good condition cloth front seats with no tears. The driver seat is a power seat with all the directions of movement. Vinyl back seat. Hard plastic flooring to be easy to clean. stock radio with a CD player. The sound knob on the radio is glitchy but still functional. The A/C is incredibly cold. The heater however does not function but living in southern california i havent needed it. The car has had a very nice Tint job applied to the rear window and rear passenger windows. the front windows do not have tint. I have added the Umbrella Corporation badging for fun because i couldnt pass up the opportunity to with a blacked out cop with Umbrella corp. it is easily removable and wont damage any paint or anything. Let me know if you want the badging or not to come with it. Now for the fun p71 specific parts and brief history if your not a cop car expert. The car has a push bar installed as well as spotlights mounted in the A column. The passenger spotlight functions and is bright. Driver side bulb needs to be replaced. Since it is a Police Interceptor Crown Victoria the engine is different from your standard ford 4.6L V8. It is a 2v It has a 150 amp alternator to power the previously installed accessories from its life as a police car. It also has an external oil cooler to make long idle times easier on the engine and helps with high speeds to keep the engine from overheating. Bigger disk brakes compared to a standard Crown Victoria. Beefier suspension to handle bumps and curbs at high speeds. A vinyl backseat for any guests. Overall this car is tank! It handles anything you throw at it. You could take that car as is and drive it until the Odometer resets as long as you do all the maintenance on it like oil changes. Yes this car is beat up but its still solid and is going to stay that way for a very long time. it is by no means a show car but if you want a safe reliable car to drive for a while this is it. There is a reason many police departments still use them even after they've been discontinued for over 5 years. Note: Winning Bidder is fully responsible for the vehicle.
