Vehicle Detail
0 0 1 155 886 Milk 7 2 1039 14.0 Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE Here is a rare opportunity. This is for a completely restored 1968 Porsche 912 with 66k original miles. This vehicle has been completely restored, frame off and everything out. -Painstakingly over a period of almost seven years. This is my personal vehicle and I oversaw every inch of the restoration process. I am a Porsche enthusiast (specifically 901's) a PCA member for over a decade; own a few and I work for Porsche. There is just too much to list on this process. Imagine seven-year period. Imagine someone obsessively devoted to Porsches with no limits. No detail was too small. And the color is a current Porsche color, Agate Metallic Grey. Along the way, I took some liberties and changed a few things from stock that made sense to me: the seats are now electric and from a later-day Porsche (back issues). Obviously the interior is completely custom. And the stereo sounds as it does in my new Carrera 4S -and hooks to an i-phone. -The pictures speak for themselves. I have an extensive history of the process, but truly there is too much detail for this space. -Any questions do not hesitate. Why am I selling? I am about to begin a 356 project and I need the emotional and head space. This vehicle is for sale locally as well as Ebay, I reserve the right to remove listing at any time. Here is a blog that lists part of the build process (for some reason cannot link a live link): porscheproject912.blogspot.comBest of luck on the auction and thank you. On Sep-28-16 at 07:45:11 PDT, seller added the following information: I thought this would be apparent, but since I am getting a few questions, thought I would try and summarize a bit: Engine: top end rebuild. This includes replacing oil pump, lines etc. Also in removing carbs and basically boiling in acid. Replaced fuel lines, pump, gas tank was removed and blasted/acid washed and resealed. Clutch serviced, linkage replaced, new pedals (the unit, gas, brake and clutch) Everything mechanical needing to be replaced was. All sheet metal came off, all floor pans replaced, including front, inner, outer rockers, etc. All brakes were rebuilt and replaced, suspension was replaced, all VDO orginal gauges were refirb'd by Palo Alto, all parts (which are just too numerous to list -there are some pictures if you scroll down on the blog listed above) were supplied by Sierra Madre Collection. ALL mechanics performed by the amazing guys at W. Jennings Co in Southport, CT. Who are Porsche certified and are master mechanics. As I said I changed things that suited me, like the seats from a newer model and made them electric, the stereo system was also obviously upgraded and plays an iPod. I reconfigured the sound, relocating speakers throughout the vehicle with Polk audio speakers that are marine grade, replaced the "push rods" on the door with larger solid cast aluminum ones, redesigned the interior a bit, the dash, etc. Correct german weave carpet, custom dyed RED leather throughout the entire vehicle, etc. Was really more concerned with making this a custom vehicle to MY liking. Along the way I have traveled back and forth to Stuttgart, to Miami to meet Magnus Walker, southern California to meet Rob at Singer Vehicles Design and continue to work on Porsche's business here in the U.S. (I work on their advertising) -This was a long and sometimes painful process. I just kept moving along and did not really care about cost. -Obviously, those who know, know what is required. I am an avid Porsche enthusiast and drive this vehicle along with my Carrera 4S cab every other day. I am now about to begin a resto on aforementioned outlaw-styled 1961 356 and really just looking to clear space out. This is a LIKE to sell (to someone that is an enthusiast) NOT a NEED to sell. Any questions, just ask. Thank you and good luck! :)
