Vehicle Detail
I am reluctantly selling my 1986 944 Turbo. I have owned this car since 1999. When I purchased it, it had 195799 miles on it. The car had recently been completely overhauled. The LSD transmission was newly rebuilt, new clutch and all suspension components were replaced, including bushings and upgraded koni sport shocks. The engine was extensively upgraded. It was stroked to 3.0 litres. Carrillo rods and Mahle pistons, with a forged crank. A larger than stock turbo (K27) and the stock computer was chipped. It was dyno’d at 406 HP. It is a beast. The aluminum lower A-arms on these cars are a known weak point and were replaced with Fab car steel A-arms. The car currently has 214,000 miles. It still drives and feels like a new car, only MUCH faster than stock. When the recession hit in 2007, I took the car off the road. I decided this year that it was time to sell the car, and went through it in July of this year. The brake master cylinder, clutch master and slave cylinder were replaced, and stainless steel brake lines were added. Axle boots were replaced and the CV joints repacked. All fluids were replaced-anti freeze, oil, and brake fluid. A major service was performed, including timing belt and balance shaft belt. Fuel injectors were cleaned and flow matched. Engine mount was replaced, as were all coolant hoses. It has a new die hard battery. The A/C was updated to R 134, and blows cold. Everything works, sunroof, windows, etc. Alpine CD player. Now for the bad: the dash pad has a large crack. There are no dents or accidents, but there are a few minor dings. Original paint is a little thin in places, but shines nicely. Interior leather is in good condition, as are the carpets. I have the original front valence and steering wheel and a car cover, which are included. The tires have good tread and no cracks, but they are 10 years old This is a well preserved car with only 18,000 miles since a total mechanical restoration. It would make a great driver, or track day car. $500.00 deposit will be due within 48 hours of auction close. Balance of payment will be due within 7 days. I will accept cash or check, but will hold the car until check clears. If you live close, by all means come and see the car. I personally would not hesitate to drive this anywhere; however, as nice as it is, this is a 30 year old used car and is being SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS, WITH NO GUARANTEES OR WARRANTIES EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. On Sep-25-16 at 05:36:06 PDT, seller added the following information: Several people have asked to come see the car. Pleas call or text 781-248-3760 and we can make arrangements for a visit,
