Vehicle originated in Florida and found it’s way back and forth between Indiana and Florida depending on the season. This sweet 600SL was locally owned and traded in on a R8 Spyder. Cosmetically the exterior and interior are in excellent condition. Upon receiving the vehicle on trade, we drove the car for over 150 worry free miles and then properly detailed the car. Shortly after the car decided to stumble every so often and upon further investigation, it seems to have succumbed to the unfortunate engine harness failure. If you're not familiar, check out several of the MB forums and you'll soon find that nearly all 91-97 Mercedes-Benz models were produced with faulty engine harness looms. The insulation used basically deteriorates and overtimes cracks and falls off leaving exposed wires. We believe this to be the problem as the symptoms look and sound identical to the thousands of others that have had the same problems. At this time, we don't have the time to work on the vehicle and will sell the vehicle as is. Overall if this loom was of no issue, we believe this car would easily fetch $15k-$17k and overtime will bring even more money due to the fact that it peaks collectors interests as the only year for the two-tone 600SL was in 1993. Vehicle comes with two keys, owner’s manuals, cover for hard top, hard top, and hard top stand. Vehicle comes with a clean Carfax vehicle history report and has not seen any accidents. On 08/2016, we inspected the vehicle and completed the following services: Balanced front wheels Replaced Antenna (oem) Replaced third brake light due to bulbs burnt out Replaced rear suspension block due to a slight fluid leak and bled the system Replaced lower shaft seal on power steering gearbox Flushed and replaced power steering fluid Replaced trunk latch due to being inoperable Replaced hood pad due to age Replaced passenger side visor mirror with OE unit due to a tab being broken This vehicle has seen an interior, exterior, and engine bay detail. His shop is in NY and for around 4k est. he can change/redo all necessary items needed. Per our conversation: He can repair mass air flow wiring for $1500; rewire both throttle bodies for $850; install lower harness for $350; and as package deal will install upper injector harness for free as I need to work in that area anyway during mass air flow wiring repair. He would need you to provide the upper injector harness ($980 est) and lower harness ($275 est). He can provide wiring for throttle bodies and make new wiring for mass air flow harnesses and will cut connectors to solder to pins and glue them back after.
