This remarkable Volvo 1800 ES is a recent local garage find. It is a very early production car. The serial number is below 000175. This ES was built in September 1971. It is unrestored with the exception of a average quality repaint in a non factory color. The paint is about 20 years old. The positive side is that the body currently shows no significant signs of rust. There was rust repair done to the lower rockers where they meet the floorpan. Also the short jack mount plates located on the floor pan were replaced during the safety process.There is slight bubbling at the base of the windshield on the passenger side. This could be poor prep work however. There are a couple of other areas with very minor bubbling as well . The car would benefit from new paint. It was rust proofed when new with Ziebart. The floorpan and trunk are factory undercoated and in excellent condition. The chrome trim is in very good condition. The passenger side quarter molding is dented. Also the side chrome has been replaced by vinyl. The interior is in very nice condition. The Smiths gauges are all in working order. Mechanically the car is excellent. The overdrive works perfectly. My Volvo has a current province of Manitoba safe vehicle certificate. It can be driven with confidence. I do not have the original paperwork. I do have service records going back to August 12 1988. At that time the mileage was 87089. It is currently just over 90000 mi.The glass is all stamped with a Volvo logo. I live about an hour north of Pembina, North Dakota.
