This listing is for a TOTALLY STOCK, UNTOUCHED & ORIGINAL 1999 JEEP CHEROKEE XJ. This vehicle has only 125000 original miles on it, & for those who don't know, these 4.0L inline 6 cylinder engines with a little care-mainly, change the oil regularly & don't abuse them-go FOREVER! Or close to it, 250000 miles is the norm for these engines, 300000 is found on more then a few XJ's prowling the streets of LI! The only work done under the hood has been a recent thermostat change, a recent alternator replacement, a battery & a bunch of oil changes over the years. This motor HUMS just as when it rolled of the assembly line! It is also equipped with a good shifting automatic transmission & OH YEA it's 4WD, like ALL JEEPS SHOULD BE!!! THIS JEEP HAS NOT BEEN ABUSED!!!! It has NEVER been offroaded! It was purchased to ensure the ability to 'get out' during the what seems to be yearly 'snowstorm of the century' on the hilly north shore of LI, NY. Again-NEVER OFFEROADED as evidenced by the clean, NOT mudcaked undercarriage. YES it did see 4wd duty ON ROAD during many snowstorms over the years BUT was promptly cleaned afterwards again as noted by the almost non-existance of rust!!! The interior of this jeep looks like it just pulled off the showroom floor. It is as close to mint in ANY 17 year old vehicle as i've ever seen. For a jeep? This just proves how well it was babied, it looks awesome inside-seats are practically perfect, carpet looks incredible, dash looks great & the headliner...is above your head! It has power door locks, power windows-that ALL work, the AC was recharged this spring but since has lost that charge-last year it needed 2 charges to get thru the season so i'm sure the leak is nothing major. While the body of this jeep is not show quality, it's in real nice shape for a 17 year old XJ. There are a couple real tiny bubbles under the paint but this jeep has NO rot/rust holes on it, essentially a RUST FREE cherokee! It does have its share of parking lot dings-drivers side door, hood, front passenger side fender but NO major dents. This practically new (because of the low 125000 miles on it) would make an excellent daily driver. I would drive this jeep anywhere! If you're looking for a beach vehicle or something to take to Stokes Forest or Rausch Creek-THIS IS IT!!! Add a lift kit & some bigger tires & don't feel bad 'butchering' a 'mint' jeep. If i needed ANOTHER lifted jeep, THIS WOULD BE THE ONE! If i needed ANOTHER daily driver jeep, THIS WOULD BE THE ONE! BUT i already have them! So this one needs a new home!
