Vehicle Detail

1967 Lincoln Continental Convertible This is a very hard-to-find original car in excellent condition with only 66,685 miles. We purchased this car in 1993 with only 49,000 miles, and have used it gently since. The car has always been garaged kept. It is time for a new caretaker. This car is all black: black paint, black interior, black roof. The ride is sublime: it just floats down the highway like no car built today. The interior is completely original. The car was mechanically restored and painted in the ‘80s (we have a pile of receipts from that restoration, as well as every receipt since). It still shows very well. This car is so fabulous that it has been specifically requested to be shown in auto shows alongside high-dollar concours cars. We also have frequent requests to provide the car for weddings, parades, and much more. Everything on the car works except for the cruise control (call for details), and the intermittent clock. The only flaws in the car are a small paint bubble from poor paint prep years ago (see picture), a spot of rust or poor paint prep on one fender arch (has never changed in 20+ years), a worn spot in the rear carpet (under the floor mat), and a crack in the dash (but the speaker grill is still intact). The car was originally a western car -- it spent the first part of its life in Nebraska and Colorado. We brought it to Washington about 15 years ago (where cars also don’t rust). You will be very hard pressed to find a lower mileage, more original, or nicer Lincoln convertible than this one. Please call with any questions: 425.301.9388 We will help you ship this vehicle anywhere. Poor prep here Poor prep, or maybe minor rust. Has not changed in 20+ years On Jul-08-16 at 12:14:51 PDT, seller added the following information: A buyer asked some good questions, and I forgot to post the response. But I decided to add this information below Question Does everything on it work? Do the rear windows drop when you open the back doors? Does the AC, Heater, and horn work? Do doors unlock from drivers door? Do the windows work from individual door and the drivers door? Is the stain in the truck from leaking hydraulic fluid? If so has that leak been repaired? Has any of the door or truck seals ever been replaced? Have the shocked been replaced since you have owned it?Is there any rust under the carpet in the trunk? Can you pull that back and take pictures? Has the AC been converted to 134? When were the tires replaced? Do the windshield wipers work? How does it idle? Does it overheat if it just sits with the engine running or when going slow like in a parade? When was the last time it was tuned up? Can you take a different angle picture of the rust on the trunk it is hard to see in the existing picture? Is the scratch behind the hood ornament rusting? Could you take a closeup of it? Answer Excellent questions! First, let me say that basically this is a virtually perfect car that you could drive across the country, and then enter in a Lincoln and Continental Owners Club (lcoc.org) competition, and probably place! This car should probably bring in twice the current bid--at least. Basically, everything works, and there is NO RUST ANYWHERE. Okay, as mentioned above, no cruise control, and intermittent clock. Every switch works. Roof works perfectly, all six power windows (including vent windows) operate from all appropriate switches. Rear door windows retract when rear doors open, and return when doors are closed. Car starts and idles perfectly. Will idle all day--very smoothly--without overheating, or drive as fast as you want all day without complaint. The automatic temperature control (A/C or heat) works perfectly. Still R12, may need to be topped off. The tires were replaced March, 2013. These are Diamond Back Classics based on Yokohama tires. These are vastly superior tires to the standard "antique" tire vendors' tires. Yes, the stain in the trunk is from hydraulic fluid leakage. The hydraulics were replaced about August 2011, including a new hydro-e-lectric pump. No more leaks! Trunk-to-bumper seal about 15 years old, and it still looks/feels new. Other seals are acceptable-but-original condition. Shocks replacement unknown, but operate as they should. No recent tune-up, but I did recently check points and they are fine. Car is fast and smooth. Windshield wipers work on multiple speeds. Let me say one more time ... everything works right! The rust spot picture (can't improve) is poor ... because there really is nothing there! I have attached pictures of the barely-a-scratch near the hood ornament (no rust!), and the perfect trunk floor (the orange is original paint). All pictures also here
