This for a all original 1984 Mark 1 Volkswagen Rabbit GTI.This was the last year for the Mark 1 GTI and was one of the Last built in the USA.This is a very unmolested car that has been inside stored for many years.It has always been a southern car,Tennessee until 2003 and Alabama since.It is showing 58k on the odometer but I am not sure if it is correct.The guy I got it from said it sometimes does not work.Common with VW's of this era,but looking at the car I would say it is still pretty close.The car is very solid and very straight.There is a small spot of rust by the back bottom edge of the spare tire well.See photos.Everything else looks good.The car has always been black.It was repainted a satin black back in 2003 and a new windshield was installed.The sunroof works great and has NEW cables and seals.The interior is all original and does have some tears and minor wear mainly on the cloth on the drivers seat bottom.I have the headliner board and the sunroof insert and all headliner trim items including both sun visors.The dash has a crack by the glovebox area.See photos.I have all the original books and keys.This car will come with a lot of extra parts which I will list below.The car will crank and run.The motor has NO noises,leaks and it does not smoke.The injection system will need some attention,as some injectors are not working as they should.The fuel line by the pump leaks alittle and will need replacing.The clutch is good and the trans shifts thru all the gears.The exhaust is good also.The brakes feel fine and the tires have good tread but are from 2003 at least.The battery will charge up but will need replacing,it is from 04.This car will need to be trailered to its new home.It will go on a tow dolly with no problems.It is not driveable as it sits right now.I believe you could go thru the fuel system and replace the battery and a fresh set of tires and this could be a daily driver. Overall this is a very nice solid unmolested 84 GTI with a factory sunroof for a great price. Here is a list of all the extra parts that will come with the car,alot of these parts are just that,Extra,most everything on the car is still good unless noted. new or re manufactured distributor fuel pump bracket and foam surround new water pump new Continental timing belt and roller new gasket set new nos gas cap Correct one shifter rebuild kit, even though shifter is fairly tight still 4 extra stock snowflake wheels in good shape in addition to the 4 on the car new turn signal and wiper stalks new competition strut bar new stock oil and fuel filters new wiper nozzles new clutch cable new hood release cable new accelerator cable new air supply boot double pipe exhaust manifold 2 double pipe exhaust pipes straight exhaust pipe exhaust pipe heat shields used fuel injectors lower panel behind rear bumper extra front air dam (very hard to find) new Hella taillights already on car new ground wire miscellaneous suspension parts and poly bushings original owner's manual and old school repair manuals new window cranks rear hatch gasket I am sure whoever buys this car will be VERY happy and satisfied.If you have any questions just ask me thru eBay,I will respond as quick as I can.I might entertain a buy it now price as long as the reserve has not been met,if agreeable, I will add a Buy it now option,but once the reserve has been met,I can't add it,the car will then sell to the LAST highest bidder,only here on eBay. First off,I made a typo in the original listing description.The car has been in Alabama since early 2007.It was in Tennessee up until then.I have posted a copied portion of the Auto check report. The guy I got it from in Alabama drove it for about first 3 mos and then put it in his enclosed garage where it had set(unused),9 years until I got it this year(2016).He was going to completely redo it and he bought many extra parts and never really did anything do to not having any extra time due to his job. I got it running and have just driven around my property.I will NOT sell the parts separately,everything will come with the car. 2.Rust issues,I have not seen any other rust thru on the car except the rear lower spare tire well,the underside looks very good of what I can see. 3.The shock towers ,rear suspension mounting points,rockers,jack points and pinch welds look fine and solid. 4.The car does not appear to have ever been wrecked nor does it seem have any major rust issues.I went all over the car with a magnet and there is NO filler that I could find.The body is very straight and smooth.Just keep in mind that it is a 32 year old car and there may be some small things I missed.Please note my feedback,I try to be as accurate as possible.
