Offered for sale is a 1991 LHD Land Rover Defender 90 wagon with sunroof. It has a 200tdi turbo diesel engine and is an original factory unit, not a conversion from the 19j diesel engine found in earlier models. VIN is SALLDVAF8HA702176. I believe the color to be Arles Blue and it appears to be all original paint except in the load area, which appears to be repainted in a few areas. The 200tdi is considered to be the most reliable diesel engine Land Rover has ever built, it's not very fast but it starts immediately every time and does not smoke. The truck doesn't have any rust, a couple of very small dings and a little surface rust here and there that can easily be cleaned off (any 25 year old vehicle will have a little surface rust unless it's been restored). Some tiny bubbles on various aluminum body panels which is known as contact corrosion and any old Land Rover will have that, easy to sand off, skim and repaint. The cluster of stickers on the driver door is covering a slightly bigger spot of contact corrosion (about the size of a cell phone), I just wanted to cover it up so it wasn't exposed. Before picture is included to show that its just aluminum contact corrosion. New 800 CCA battery, wing top grilles, left side headlamp finisher and right side rear light from Rovers North just a few days ago. New headlight switch and some new turn signal bulbs. Interior is in very good condition, door bottoms are good as are foot wells and floors. Rear red fog lamp is missing the lens, I am including a new light assembly to replace it with a white lens, the red one was not available from Rovers North, the white lens could be made red with some tinting tape from an auto parts store. The Defender has 223000 kms or 138260 miles, timing belt was changed within the last 50000 kms as is specified by the maintenance schedule. The engine runs well, brakes are fine, 4LO engages fine. There is some road noise while driving but its an old school Defender, not a modern SUV. Its a nice solid truck in unrestored, original and very good condition. Please expect normal wear and tear for a 25 year old vehicle. Vehicle sold AS IS with no warranty. Serious buyers only.
