Here is a 1940 Ford Standard Coupe Field Find. This coupe is original condition as it was parked in 1953. First of all it will come with a current Montana title in my name. I have already applied and it will be here with in the next 2 weeks. I will try and describe to the best of my ability. Frame is in good original condition. No Rust! This car had been sitting on the ground for the past 63 years and if you don't already know it is Very Dry here Montana so the frame is in good shape. I have put an original 40 rear end under the car and 4 original 40 wheels and roller tires that hold air. Hood in good shape needing only slight repair. Front fenders are fairly decent and restorable but still need some work. The driver door was missing when I got the car but have since found a really good one with no rust and only needing slight repair of a couple small dents the size of a half dollar. The passenger side door is in really good shape with no rust. The top is in pretty good condition drivers door post has a twist in it and needs repaired. I had a body guy look at it and he said it can be repaired. One bullet hole next to rear window and a smaller dent next to it. No other bullet holes and no one has jumped on the top. Both rear quarters has been repaired along time ago just behind drivers door and it is Rusted all the way from the running board to the top of the fender where fender meets the quarters. I would buy both new repro quarters from Dennis Carpenter for both sides of the car listing for $875.00 each. The floor boards good be patched as they have a couple of holes but here again I would just replace them from Dennis Carpenter's. The deck lid comes with the car but is in bad shape with a large dent and some rust. There are 40 deck lids here on ebay almost al the time including now for $150.00 and up or new one from Dennis Carpenter. Glass is all broken or gone. Needs new seat brace again from Carpenters. Every piece of sheet metal is available repro from Dennis Carpenters for the 40 Coupe!!! Or You can buy a whole New Body for in the area of $12-14,000. Yes This body needs a lot of work but it still a Original 1940 Ford Coupe which are getting harder to find everyday and there is only so many left. PLEASE ASK ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE!!!
