1985 Honda VF1000R with 10,047 miles in original condition; no modifications I am selling my entire collection of Honda motorcycles. Please check my other current auctions. This VF1000R is real find in this "un" condition. The previous owner was a Honda Motorcycle dealer-principal in Texas who had this bike in his personal collection and frequently rode it to work. Since acquiring it last summer, I had Mammoth Motorsports in Rohnert Park CA, perform a complete service. They remarked to me just how well the bike has been maintained stating that "clearly someone has looked after this Honda". All of the parts are original or OEM save for the new tires, brakes and battery that I mention below. The bike has absolutely NO modifications. The fairings are free of cracks and the paint looks very very good given its' age. Even the grips are original! This bike is not in mint condition but rather an extremely well preserved, VERY Low Mileage runner. The bike is cold-blooded during start-up, requiring a lot of choke and at least ten minutes at idle to warm all of her fluids to operating temperature. However, there is absolutely no smoke; it idles easily and pulls away smoothly. The VF is very heavy and softly sprung... but that is all part of her charm. The bike has an extremely comfortable seat & riding position with an unusually long reach to the bars. This VF1000R is gloriously retro and attracts Tons of admiration everywhere!
