Vehicle Detail

1970 HONDA CT70 TRAIL 70The first model in the U.S.Frame# CT70-109119 Engine# CT70E-111991CALIFORNIA TITLEON CA. NON-OPERATION STATUS (MEANS NO BACK FEES) NO RESERVE Up for auction is another premium condition 1970 CT70 K0 that I have built. This bike is a silver tag judging by the vehicle identification number and the location of the hole for the wire harness next to the tail light. I know that it is said that they were only built in 1969, but 1970 is what the California highway patrol says it is. I am not the original owner and it had to be verified by them for the title. So with that said, the bike has the silver tag correct horn, rear straight brake stay, and left side engine cover. I will describe this bike of all the replaced parts and workmanship done and the imperfections. This description will give you an idea as to all that was done to complete this bike. Not everything on this bike is new This bike purrs like a kitten, shifts good, and drives excellent. Every part on this bike has been replaced, re-chromed, polished, or re-plated. A lot of time and money in this bike as you can see. All the correct numbered “8” bolts with the correct washers and proper bolt length were used. Look closely at the photos and you be the judge. This is practically a brand new bike from 1970. You would be hard pressed to build a bike as nice as this for this price. Bid with confidence you will not be disappointed. Feel free to call or text me @ 626-664-5947. Please don’t ask “What is your reserve”. Please read and understand both the shipping and payment details before bidding. Engine and Transmission The engine was completely disassembled. The following was done: replaced intake and exhaust valves, glass beaded the head, bored out the cylinder to .50 over standard with new piston, piston pin and rings, new cam chain, new cam chain rollers, new clutch plates and springs, new oil pump, new counter shaft sprocket, new carburetor, new fuel lines, new air cleaner element with re-chrome side covers, new gaskets and seals, re-chromed kick start lever and shifter lever with new rubber, new screws, seals. New Honda magneto side cover. The cylinder was painted with high heat glass black epoxy paint. It has new points, condenser, plug, and dip stick. The cam cover, intake manifold, valve covers and points inspection cover have been polished. All new bolts, nuts, screws and hardware were used to finish off the new factory look. The bike starts on the first kick and runs like a dream. Motor has only 2 miles on it so you will need to go thru a break in period. Wheels and Tires New NOS 4.00 x10 Bridgestone tires, new tubes, new wheel bearings and seals, new brake shoes. New rear sprocket & chain were installed. The brake backing plates have been polished and the hardware re-zinced. Wheels and brake hubs powder coated cloud silver. Re-zinced the original axles, silver tag brake stay, and number"8" bolts. Front Fork Assembly Front Fork Assembly was rebuilt with new fork sliders, seals & boots, polished the fork caps, re-chromed the fork legs and fork bolts and washers. The triple clamp was polished and a new steering nut, New fork reflector and base were installed. New Honda candy red headlight bucket, TB parts complete headlight, new light bulbs in speedo. Steering Assembly New NOS grips & hi/low switch. New front and rear brake, speedo, and throttle cables with new rubber grommets for the wiring. It has new CHP horn button, new CHP handlebars, new throttle assembly, NOS brake levers and screws that hold them to the bar. New NOS cable ties. Body and Frame The frame was sand blasted prior to powder coating. The powder coat is a candy apple red. Powder coat is made to last. It is scratch resistant, and will not fade. The bikes original fenders were re-chromed, new cable guide and screws on the front fender, OEM horn re-zinced and re-painted. It has new Honda NOS exhaust pipe. Main exhaust grill was re-chromed “show chrome” along with the screws that mount it. New lower exhaust shields and new screws. The shocks were disassembled polished and installed new rubber bushings and re-chromed the original spring. The speedometer was reset to zero with new face and glass was cleaned like new. A new speedometer gasket installed, new seat, new sealed battery, battery box and seat latch were re-zinced, new battery rubber strap, new battery rubber cover, New decals and side emblems, new brake light switch and spring, All of the Honda proper "8" bolts have been re-zinced. The gas tank mount, seat hinge, air cleaner housing, foot-pegs and kickstand have also been powder coated gloss black and the spring pins were re-zinced. New headlight and Honda NOS headlight bucket, new hi beam light and speedometer light, new wire harness with rubber grommets, new key switch with 2 keys. The foot brake assemble was re-chromed, new engine cradle/guard, new spark plug guard, new Honda tail light, re-chromed the original taillight bracket and new rubber bushings installed. New side lift handle. Now here are the not so good things. The bike is not perfect. It has a small crack near the rear harness hole as seen in the picture and a slight ding in the frame next to the front harness hole as seen in the picture. The powder coat is a little orange peel look to it as seen in the picture. The headlight bucket (new NOS Honda part) does not match the frame perfectly. I have described the bike the best I can. If you are confused about anything please email or text me so I can clear it up. Examine the pictures closely. It is hard to capture the deep translucent paint. I took a few pictures in different light. You be the judge. Give me a call or email me if you have any questions. My number is 626-664-5947 Shipping & HandlingBuyer responsible for all shipping arrangements and shipping costs! Buyer is responsible for all aspects of the shipping. Please don't ask me how much to ship it to where you are. The bike weighs about 140lbs. I won’t crate the bike but if you want to ship by forward air please include an additional $50 to cover the cost of tie-downs and a good lock. Forward air provides a steal crate. You do need to make a reservation with them and that takes about two weeks. I have used them before without any problems. Payment Details $100 will be due within 24 hours through PayPal. The rest I want paid within 3 days by Cashier’s Check, Bank Wire or Cash. If you want to pay the full amount owed through PayPal then I will require you to pay an additional 4.8% to cover the PayPal charges. All funds must clear prior to shipment.
