For Sale By Owner: 2007 Honda Shadow 600, aka VT600C Deluxe After lots of time on dirt bikes and ATV's this was my first street bike and I bought it brand new in 2008 right after I got my license. It's incredibly fun to ride and I have many good memories from being on it, and customizing it, but I have moved on to something more performance oriented and it's time to find it a new rider to see the sites with. With just under 8,800 miles on this VLX 600, it is in excellent condition. Weighing only 455 lbs with a 28-inch seat height, this cruiser's size and low center of gravity give it a solid feel without being too big. Its 583cc, 39 H.P. liquid-cooled, V-Twin engine provides ample power for commuting or an all-day trek. I replaced the factory 44-tooth rear sprocket with a 37-tooth from JT Sprockets for better highway speeds and improved gas mileage (average of 64 mpg). With it's 2.9-gal tank, I usually travel 125-130 miles before switching to the 0.9-gal reserve. Other extras include: Mustang seat National Cycle detachable wind screen. Honda sissy bar and rear fender rack. Heavy duty crash bar. Nylon storage bag mounted to fender rack and Silver Streak nylon saddle bags on custom-made metal frames. These are detachable without having to remove the seat like other saddle bags. Kriss high beam modulator. Kriss brake light flasher connected to a accessory light mounted on the top rear of the sissy bar. Twin driving lights on a custom mount under the headlamp. This makes riding in the dark much safer as they let you see things to either side of the bike before you turn into them. Dual-tone Fiam horns from a Mercedes. Much more noticeable than the weak factory horn. All accessory wiring was done professionally (independent, breaker-protected circuits; soldered or screw terminal connections; heat shrink tubing) and run alongside the factory wiring harnesses. It is all clean and trouble-free. Tires are original and showing some cracks in the sidewalls, but a set of Pirelli Night Dragon tires, still in their shipping bags, are included. About $300 retail. You also get new rear brake pads and the stock rear sprocket, horn, and seat, as well as a Pac Safe nylon helmet bag with a lockable stainless steel mesh liner. All of my modifications are "bolt on," and the bike can be returned to stock with relative ease. This is a great bike! Especially for new riders. For a 9-year-old motorcycle, it's condition is well above average with lower than usual mileage. The only notable flaws are a small mar on the right side of the gas tank from a car kicking up a pebble, and a few boot scuffs on the seat. It has always been stored inside, and it has never been dropped. After it's 500 mile break-in inspection, the oil has been changed religiously every 3k miles with Rotella T6 full synthetic and a Puralator filter. SHIPPING INFORMATION: *Local pickup is preferred but I am willing to trailer the bike within a 25-mile radius of Rockville, Maryland, without additional charge, provided complete payment has already been made.
