Vehicle Detail

1984 Ford Crown Victoria Wagon LTD Better than a Barn-find….. Garage find, owned by meticulous older gentlemen. Owner was a 88 year old professional violin maker who claims the 56K miles are all original. Which truly seems to be the case from everything I observe on this car, including the oil change tag in the window claiming the next oil service due on 11/30/2010 at 59,770 miles, especially considering the car only has 56,133 on it right now. (I did change it based on age of oil J) Take a look at the pics, I think they speak for themselves. This car is a gem. And don’t worry about the puddles you see on the ground, I just washed her and applied tire shine. There are no leaks on the ground from this car. There is one tiny drip on the bottom of the oil pan drain bolt, that just hanging there, that never seems to fall…. Confident there is nothing to worry about. As I mentioned above, this car was owned by a professional violin maker, who, as you can see in the pictures, cleverly fabricated a tiny block of wood to cover the passenger’s side window button, so he would not have to replace the motor or regulator. Makes me laugh as this is something my dad would have done to postpone a repair. Window regulator is a cheap and simple repair. There are no warning lights on and everything seems to work great, outside of the air conditioning, no surprise there. The rear window motor creaks a bit when rolling the back window up and down, but works fine. She goes well and stops well and is quiet down the road. I have taken the family on a few rides and the kids love, love, love the back seats in this wagon. As a matter of fact, they love the middle row as well as they seem to be new and pillowy and don’t appear to have had anyone in them before. This is a non-smoker vehicle, clean lighter, clean ashtray, no odors, no burns. This car has clearly spent most of its California and the rest in a garage in Utah. The undercarriage is completely RUST FREE and clean underneath. The paint is faded and could use a waxing, and there are some small blemishes in the paint, but so much less than a car of this year normally has. I would drive it as it is with no hesitation. Check out the pics of the inside of the door jambs and thresholds, clean as can be. I am working on a Ford Bronco Centurion right now, so no time for another project, but I could not pass up this pristine 80’s wagon when I ran across it a few weeks back. She could also use front shocks. Cool part about this car is that the previous owner continued to register the car every year, he just didn't put any miles on it, so its not like it was left unattended and unmaintained. Keep in mind it is not new, if you hunt around you can find small blemishes, but it definitely shows better than 99% of the wagons you would run across of this year.Good luck and happy bidding. Also, by the way, this wagon is currently registered and passed Safety and Emissions with flying colors, PPM were 79, when the acceptable max is 220 PPM. And please send me a note if you would like to see more pics, for some reason I couldn't load any more...? Also, remember that I has just washed the car, so the drips you see around it are water (especially the one under the spare tire well behind the right rear tire. I swear it looks like it has never been hit with a rock in this area, which is right behind the wheel.) A very clean rust free vehicle. I did notice a bit of sag in the headliner that I overlooked, just above the visors. I am 6'-8" and it doesn't touch my head, so I forgot to mention. Suspect a couple hundred to fix, if this bothers you.
