Pete Eastwood and/or P-Wood, is Legendary in the Southern California car culture as a Traditional Hot Rod builder and very astute chassis fabricator with roots dating back to Blair's Speed Shop, Sprint Cars, Drag Racing, El Mirage SCTA, Bonneville and his early days working at Pete & Jakes shop. Hot Rods should be built to be driven... to learn more about P-Wood search >The Pete Eastwood Story< Part of a prestigious "Southern California Automotive Collection" for about 15 years, built/assembled about 25 years ago by Pete & Tony, this rig has survived the test of time with only light age, desirable patina and of course, it can be driven. The original body is all steel and finished in a vintage tone of VW brown complimented with black fenders/grill and hand painted "Horsepower Farm" graphics... The chassis is hand built/modified in classic P-Wood style, consisting of Pete and Jakes 4-bar front suspension, dropped front axle, traverse mounted buggy spring, early Ford steering box (mustang?), 4 corner "juice" drum brakes, unique heavy duty parallel leaf spring 4-bar rear suspension, Ford rear end housing and rolling on 16" Kelsey Hayes spoke wheels with Firestone 750-16" bias ply tires... Power under the hood is a smooth running and modestly equipped 283 Chevy V8, cast iron 4bbl intake manifold, GM Quadra-Jet carburetor, factory style air filter assembly, GM ignition, GM 12V conversion, custom radiator & fan shroud, Ram Horn exhaust manifolds and custom dual exhaust system. Transferring the power is a Turbo-Hydro 400 automatic trans and Ford 8" rear differential... Moving inside, you will find the same level of very simple yet functional design and/or period style. Old school trimmed tan/brown "Naugahyde" upholstery, custom door/kick panels with map pockets, factory door handles/hardware, tilt steering column, Bell steering wheel, updated factory center cluster with additional gauges and restored wood structure.
