1990 Porsche 911/964 Carrera 2 convertible. Runs fine. New soft top, new paint, just had oil changed. Has been given a lot of love, but needs more. We have slowly been trying to restore this car but we no longer have the time to do so. All internal mechanical parts are solid, needs a few cosmetics. From what we knew about it, it needs nylon gears for convertible top to operate. Electric motors for top have been checked and work fine, its just the nylon gears that need replacement. Needs drivers seat power switches. Small tear on side of drivers seat. Rear seats removed by previous owner. There is nothing critically wrong with this car. The engine is fine, transmission, clutch, brain, fluids, fuel lines, battery, plus so much more all are in good condition! Here are a few things that need attention- how much the OEM Porsche brand part actually costs on pelican parts.com - and what the dealer is charging: -New Wiper Arm - actual cost $45.00 - dealer charging $505.50 -Serpentine belt dry - actual cost $15.00 - dealer charging $426.72 -Decklid Shocks - actual cost $30.00 - dealer charging $99.24 -Brake pads getting low - $141.50 - dealer charging $969.06 ... I'm sure you get the point. We have a list of all the part numbers and costs of everything that they suggested. The car runs fine and needs some love here and there. If you enjoy turning a wrench I'm sure you know all too well about dealer scams. The conversion kit was metal. And if you are considering driving a 26yr old car more than an hour, you'd be better off having it hauled.
