Vehicle Detail

1971 340 Demon, This is a real H code numbers matching motor and transmission, dash VIN, door sticker and core support all match. This car runs really well, drives great, very fast with the 3.91- 8 3/4 Sure Grip rear. The car was painted about 10 years ago, driver quality. The motor was rebuilt and the mileage 2,513 on the new speedometer is what is on the motor. I do not know how many miles are on the body or chassis. When I bought the car 3 years ago, the motor was in and the entire engine compartment and motor were all painted black. It was an unfinished project. As a Mopar lover I could not leave that, so I restored everything to as correct as possible. The 340 is .030 over, stock rebuild with hardened valve seats. It has a Mopar dual plane aluminum intake, 750 dual feed Holley carb, Hooker headers. I actually bought this for my 16 yr old grandson and realized it was way too fast for his first car. It has a reverse manual shift valve body with a B&M shifter, very solid shifts, takes a little getting used to. There were no gauges in the rallye dash when I got the car, I installed new Autometer parts and wired it, all gauges and lights on the car function, even the horn. There are 4 brand new 15 inch tires, RWL Cooper Cobra G/T, 275R60/15 rear, 215R70/15 front. These are mounted on aluminum Centerline wheels for that big/little effect. The rear springs are beefed up, and the side exhaust for old school look. It does have hood pins, and a rear spoiler. The headliner is original and in good condition, the dash pad has been recovered and looks good, originally it had a bench seat, now buckets, drivers side has a tear on the bottom cushion, now covered, rear seat is thin and original, but complete. All glass is original and not cracked. The car has had some metal replaced before, the trunk spare tire well, both rear lower qtrs, and some on the righthand t-bar crossmember, These are areas that I have noticed. The rockers, doors, fenders, hood are ok. There are some paint bubbles low on the right front fender, one spot on the deck lid, and in front of the rear wheels. I was told the car came from Colorado. It has power steering, power 10 inch drum brakes, trans cooler, front factory sway bar. Grille and front bumper are decent, the rear bumper has faded chrome on upper portion. Unfortunately I will probably lose money on this deal. I bought this car to save it and for my grandson. I am 69 years old and I like the 62-65 Mopars better, so I am selling this one to complete one of those. I have tried to be honest, this is a driver but still gets compliments and lots of attention at the cruise-ins, my research showed only 4,932 Dodge 1971 340 Demons with 727 shipped in USA. Clear title, licensed and insured in my name.
