Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible. I purchased this car in 1999 from a retired gentleman in KS who drove the car in Shriners parades. He owned the car for 15 years. I have driven the car approximately 1k miles per year. The car has had regular maintenance over the past years with mechanical improvements including: front end suspension rebuild (ball joints, bushings, idler arm assembly, sway bar end links), new clutch, rebuilt starter, new flywheel, new u-joints, rear differential service, carburetor rebuild, new spark plug wires, new carpet, and new door panels. The car has custom exhaust with dual glass-packs (sound is very strong and throaty). The car has been garage stored and has seen rain 3-4 times since 1999. The car is a nice driver and runs smoothly 75mph down the highway. It has an original 3 speed transmission and runs very strong. I believe the 289 may have had a bore sometime during the life of the car because of the power. The vehicle has a 2 barrel carb. Please check the pictures carefully. The car has been repainted at least twice prior to my ownership. I have kept clean and provided small improvements throughout the years. From 25 feet the car looks perfect. Imperfections become more apparent the closer you get. Rear bumper has a dent (see pic). Minor door dings., scrapes, etc. I put new rear springs on the vehicle in 2001 and the doors need to be closed hard to latch properly (need to be adjusted). I am happy to show the vehicle or answer questions. I am not a dealer and hate to see this car go, but kids are going to college and time to move to a new segment of our life.
