Vehicle Detail
I am the second owner of this classic e39 with the desirable manual transmission. I purchased from a family friend in 2008 and have put the majority of the miles on the vehicle myself commuting for work. Always adult owned. The car has been a pleasure to drive and has been very reliable. All service and repair work has been done by Turner Motorsports (what AMC is to Mercedes Benz) and a local dealership - records are available. Body and paint is in very good condition for the age, there are a few door dings but nothing major. There is a small paint bubble in the rear door sill, very minor. The tires are due to be changed. I am including a set of blizzak winter tires and wheels in addition to the sale as well as a spare set of 15"wheels with all season P6's with very good tread if the buyer wants them. Also has heated seats and steering wheel, Xenon head lamps that self level and the ski bag pass through. Car is how it came from the factory - even the rubber floor mats are BMW. No modifications or hot rod add ons installed. Car is a solid runner and very reliable, but not 100%. During the last service (less than 2000 miles ago) it was recommended that a ball joint and tie rod be changed as well as the A/C belt. The DSC light does intermittently come on - could be a wheel speed sensor (cheap fix) or the DSC unit (rebuild for less than $300) itself. I do fine without the traction control but you need to be aware. Again, it is an intermittent issue - works most of the time but I mention it because you may want to address this. The major reason for selling is that I need a larger vehicle for my growing kids and want an AWD for the wife in winter. I encourage you to inspect it in person yourself and i am happy to have an independent mechanic inspect it for you. Please ask lots of questions - I will answer everything I can. I have been buying and selling on eBay for years, check my feedback. This is my first car listing - so please ask if I left something out of the description. This will be a cash sale face to face - I will consider banks checks drawn locally if we go to you bank and get them together.
