Vehicle Detail

1970 Chevy Chevelle SS Clone - ROLLING CHASSIS - NO MOTOR and NO TRANSMISSION I have decided to go a different route, and I'm selling this to look for a 1967 Chevelle. I love the 70, but the 67 is where my heart is at... So... This is a 1970 "Malibu" Chevelle. All of the body work has been completed. This includes, both new front fenders, rear full driver quarter panel, and a couple of smaller floor patches. All of the hard work is done, and it's ready to be put back together. The paint job is actually a really nicely done Laguna Blue with Black SS Stripes, but it has a couple small scratches and nicks from sitting in storage for over a year. Most of this could be easily taken care of with a good wet sanding, but a couple touch up spots might be necessary (Have the paint). It does have a 12-Bolt rear already in it, and front discs installed, and the Cowl hood is all steel. Take a look through all of the pictures, and if there are any other areas you would like me to send a picture of, just let me know, and I will try and get that sent over to you. There are a TON of parts that go with this car. Most of the interior is there (No Front seat, carpet or headliner, but I think most of the rest is there). There are a good bit duplicate parts that go with it as well. I'm definitely not saying that it's all there, but the majority of it sure is! Again, there is no Motor or Trans that go with this car, and it's an "AS-IS" "Where IS" Sale. Ask all questions PRIOR to the end of the auction. I will answer all questions as quickly as I can. You will be responsible for all pick up / shipping coordination. Please have funds available and ready by auction close. I will expect a $500 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit at auction close. The reserve is set WELL below what time, labor and costs are already into this car, so be ready to get a screaming deal on a great build. Feel free to call or text with any questions as well - Brian 775-225-4266 On Mar-04-16 at 15:34:27 PST, seller added the following information: UPDATE 3/4/16: I was contacted by a bidder and made aware that the VIN that is on the car is actually for a Monte Carlo or Concourse Wagon.  The car is obviously not either of these, and the trim tag shows that it's a Chevelle Malibu Sport Coupe.  This being said, the Salvage title I have (Still in the Salvage Yard's name and not signed over), states "1970 CHEV MALIBU" with the 138 VIN.  Knowing this, the car is being sold "AS-IS, WHERE IS", and will come with a bill of sale and the current salvage title.  I took it to the DMV today to try and get the title transferred into my name, but they won't do that.  The DMV will only issue a "Rebuilt" title after the car passes all of the safety inspections first, which it obviously won't pass in it's current state. So...  Please be aware of the above, and bid accordingly.  I will most likely be lowering the reserve a bit now that I know this new information.   Still an awesome car that shouldn't have any issues getting a rebuilt title once built, but this will be the buyer's responsibility.  Title pictured below. Thanks, Brian On Mar-04-16 at 19:30:28 PST, seller added the following information: Another update from more educated bidders than I am.... Apparently I am selling what seems to be the "Frankenstein" GM Chevelle SS Clone something or other that I bought... HA! See below for Mike's correspondence, and more info updates. Regardless, it's obviously a Chevelle, and it really is going to make a very nice car for whomever decides to put it back together! Thanks again, as this has been very educational, and I'm trying to post as much information as possible, as I want to be as up front and honest about the car and condition and what's included as possible. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~From: chevellemike2002To: bigmill316Subject: Other: chevellemike2002 sent a message about Chevrolet: Chevelle Malibu Hardtop 2-Door #331793820656Sent Date: Mar-04-16 19:04:26 PSTDear bigmill316,FYI. The "138" VIN in the first three digits, was not used any more past the '68 modal year. It should rear "136" for the first three digits should read as follows: 13637-2door coupe. G.M. stopped using certain VIN's to tell a S.S. modal from a standard modal, in this case possible S.S. In other words the 136 VIN for the '70 modal year was the same no matter what modal car, I.E. Malibu or Super Sport. I also noticed that the steering wheel is a '71-'72 style wheel, also the rear bumper is a '71-'72 style. For your information the bottom filler panel, below the bumper is different between the years, '71-'72 won't work with a '70 and same with '70. Also noticed that the 12-bolt is a Olds, or Buick rear end. Hope this information helps. My information comes right from factory G.M. manual, dealer albums, etc. Nice car, good luck in selling.-chevellemike2002On Mar-05-16 at 11:25:45 PST, seller added the following information: SUNDAY UPDATE: Couple things.... #1 - Decided to get rid of the reserve, so the next bid will remove the reserve!! #2 - Forgot to mention, that right after I picked it up, I took it to the body shop, where they put it on the Frame Rack (Where I was also able to get the underside pics). Frame totally checks out, and is straight as an arrow!!! Thanks again, and happy bidding!! BrianOn Mar-08-16 at 12:25:22 PST, seller added the following information: ________________________________________________________ UPDATE: Was told where to look for a frame stamp part number. Here's a picture, and it looks like this does at least match up as a 1970 Chevelle 2 Door Malibu Frame, so I'm assuming that the Trim tag is probably original then...
