This car has a interesting but sad history. I am an Auto Collision Instructor at a Vocational school here in Pennsylvania. My students and myself joined up with The NACE and organization who's purpose is to promote the Auto Collision Industry throughout the US. To help in doing so they established a program called Recycle Rides. The main ideal for this program is for Auto Collision centers and schools throughout the US to repair damage vehicles and donate them to needy families. This was one of those vehicles. This car was donated to TCHS Brandywine by Geico​ Insurance with rear body damage. The Avalon was then taken to 3D Auto Collision Center on Boot Road and was repaired as a joint venture with TCHS Auto Collision students attending there and working with 3D's technicians. Upon completion the car was taken to a Pennsylvania Enhanced Inspection Station to be certified repaired correctly and in excellent condition. The car was then gifted to a returning Vet and his daughter who were having housing and financial issues due to no transportation. I have attached two videos, one of CBS news in Philly who did a segment on the father and daughter and one of the gifting here at TCHS Brandywine last April. Eight months after the gifting, the father who was only in his 40s had a massive heart attack and passed away. The daughter who is only 18 contacted myself to see if I could sell the car for her so she can pay her father's funeral cost. The Avalon only has 53,000 miles on it and is great shape. I have the car in my procession and have driven it around 100 miles to make sure everything is in good shape. It really is a great running and driving car. The only flaw I found was a small scratch above the right front door handle. Other then that there doesn't seem to be any flaws. The interior is in excellent condition with no rips or tears. the tires are all good as well as all the brakes and other mechanical components. There are no signs that this car was ever hit. All the repair work is top shelf. I included a picture from underneath of the replaced rear parts and the quality of the repair. Who ever gets this car will be getting a great car that is very good condition but they will be helping a very nice young women who doesn't deserve al;l the bad luck that she has endured in her short 18 years.
