Thank you for looking at my listing! This 2002 Golf has been my trusty steed since new and has covered a lot of miles. It would be perfect for a mechanically-minded person as a frugal commuter car or as a donor car for your TDI. The car is optioned with the GLS trim and the Cold Weather Package (heated seats and washer nozzles). The long block was replaced at 120,000 miles due to a timing belt mishap and the engine runs well, if a bit of smoke at start up and occasional high idle. With the long block a large OEM oil cooler was installed from the 110hp TDI from Europe and the oil pan has the sender for oil quality measurement but it's not hooked up. Also the plastic under body panel was replaced with the factory metal plate that is wonderful for protecting the engine from debris. The body has its share of paint chips, dents, and some rust but the windshield was replaced a few years ago with a VW unit and is crack free. The worn driver's seat was replaced with a GTI seats (heated seats in front) front and rear which gives more support for long drives. In the past five years the suspension has been overhauled (Bilstein TC and new bushings including torsion beam pivot bushings), brake discs/pads/stainless brake lines, and clutch/flywheel/engine mounts. The car comes with VW Roof Rack, Monster Mats (rubber floor mats from VW) and an integrated Mikado programmable garage door opener and VDO turbo boost and oil temperature gauges. The boost gauge is mechanical and can be hooked up with a new hose and tapping into the intake manifold, the oil temp gauge is fed from the oil pan drain plug with sender. In place of the 6 disc changer in the trunk is the Kenwood "Music Keg" MP3 player with a removable hard drive and USB dock (missing AC adapter, but these are common) that was available from the dealer before iPods hit the market. I have the clean title in hand, along with a stack of parts and service receipts two inches thick and a well-thumbed Bentley service manual. Please ask questions before bidding. Also the plastic under body panel was replaced with the factory metal "skid" plate that is wonderful for protecting the engine from debris.
