**WATCH VIDEOS ABOVE FOR MORE DETAILS** Legendary Triumph owner/racer/builder : K.C. SPILLERS SR.'s '71 Triumph Drag Bike. BIKES LIKE THIS RARELY SURFACE TO THE PUBLIC SO THIS IS A TREMENDOUS OPPORTUNITY TO OWN A HISTORICAL TRIUMPH DRAG RACE BIKE WITH LOADS AND LOADS OF HISTORY. Due to the unfortunate passing of Triumph drag racing legend Kenny "KC" Spillers Sr., I am listing (1) of his vintage Triumph drag racing bikes for sale to the highest bidder. I purchased (2) of his race bikes and I want someone else to enjoy and proudly race/display the other one. The 'Sandy Kosman' chassis bike in the background was KC's World Record Holder but it is NOT for sale. I am keeping it for my private collection. If you are not familiar with KC's history with Triumph Racing in the 1950's, 60's, 70's and 80's or his friendship / rivalry with God of Speed Sonny Routt... it's a great legacy. His list of accomplishments and awards go on for days. He ran a pre unit Triumph named "Ol Blue Dog" to countless victories and set many track records. His pre unit was featured in the 1961 Hot Rod Magazine entitled "Two Wheel Dragster". He even worked with Boots Beechler on developing "The Widow Maker". He was considered the "Burt Munro" of drag racing by some. He was inducted into the Avilla Motorsports Hall of Fame in 1992 and received countless awards and commendations. He had won well over 100 trophies in the A.M.D.R.A / NHRA and held track records at Avilla, IN.('65), Charlotte, NC.('72) and Phoenix, AZ.('73). This will be a 1 time listing and a true NO RESERVE auction. To me it is priceless and the engine alone is worth the opening bid. Also, getting this out of the way first, there is NO TITLE for this motorcycle. It has been one of KC's personal race bike for 30+ years and not titled for the street. However, it will be sold on an Indiana Bill of Sale Form. So without further delay... here is the bike: 1971 TRIUMPH TR6R Drag Bike (Frame is a stock OIF) Bike had set multiple track records at 11.66 / 7.70 Bike has been stored in KC's basement for many years where it was drained of all fluids. TR6R 650 cc lower end with Sonny Routt big bore kit to 750cc top end. Boyer ignition and charging system (could be put back on the road but why would you). Delta twin carb race head with dual Dellorto pumper carbs. Tight and dry engine. Not many passes on it since complete rebuild. No expense was spared in building this motor I assure you. KC used only the best parts on the market. He worked exclusively with Sonny Routt and used many techniques that were ahead of their time. NO cutting corners, just cutting edge technology of the era. Steering stabilizer and old school fiberglass body work. "Garfield" on the gas cap is because Jim Davis and KC were good friends for many years and lived close to each other. Strutted rear suspension, wheelie bars and so on. I installed a new Yuasa battery and fresh high octane fuel and it fired right up!! STARTS ON 1ST KICK!!!!!!! SOUNDS AMAZING!!!!! STTTRRROOONNNGGG Engine!!! SMOOTH, CLEAN, CRISP THROTTLE!! Do NOT miss out on this opportunity!!!!!!!!!!!!! Any question please ask. I will try to do my best to answer them to the best of my knowledge. Cheers Shipping: Shipping costs are the buyers responsibility but I will work out the details with your shipper to load the bike up. I recommend Uship, Keyboard Motorcycle Shippers and Haulbikes. Bike is sold "As Is" and "Where Is". No warranty expressed or implied obviously BUT if you are in the area you are welcome and encouraged to come and physically inspect it anytime you like. I'm not an expert on these things so PLEASE ask anything anytime. I'm happy to answer. Nothing to hide here. Paying: CASH IN HAND IS KING BANK TO BANK WIRE CASHIERS' CHECKS See my **EXCELLENT** FEEDBACK to know who you are buying from prior to purchase. PAYPAL IS NOTPREFERRED! I DO NOTLIKE PAYPAL AND I THINK THEIR FEES ARE OUTRAGEOUS! HOWEVER IF YOU WANT TO USE PAYPAL,YOU WILL HAVE TO BE LIABLE FOR THE EXTRA FEES. SORRY...BUT IT'S JUST RIDICULOUS WHAT THEY CHARGE FOR BASICALLY DOING NOTHING. On Dec-30-15 at 08:28:43 PST, seller added the following information: I want to thank everyone for the interest, bids and especially the stories that you have shared with me about this bike and KC's life on and off the track. It has been very helpful for me to have more knowledge about the history of these motorcycles and the man who built them. Just to answer the top 2 most popular questions that keeps popping up, "What's the reserve" and "Is there a Buy it Now"? This is a NO RESERVE auction. I am letting fellow enthusiasts who appreciate this motorcycle for what it is set the price. I have enjoyed bench racing with everyone and I am so thankful that KC's legacy will continue on. That to me is genuinely worth more than any dollar figure. Someone will be getting a wonderful, meticulously built Triumph with a great history for a fantastic price. Best of luck to all and Happy New Year 2016!
