******5 DAY AUCTION****NO RESERVE**** Up for auction is an all original, never molested 1980 Mercedes Benz 450 SEL. This is the last year of production for the legenday flagship model Mercedes Benz produced throughout most of the 70's that featured their very desirable 4.5 liter V8 engine. This car has always been in California and as such does NOT suffer from the usual rust issues so many of them from that era do have. The car was in garaged storage since 2001 until 4 months ago. As a result, much attention was spent under the hood to get it up and running again. Now, it runs strong and smooth and the transmission shifts well. the car is finished in the rarely seen Silver blau paint code #930 with a navy blue interior. Overall, the paint and interior are in better than average shape, but there are flaws to be found . The still quite shiny original paint has various scratches and the full leather interior looks pretty good with the drivers seat showing the most wear. The door panels and headliner are in great shape as is the wood in the car. The leather does not show the typical age shrinkage and the almost always saggy rear parcel nets are in this case showroom perfect. The Becker was replaced in 1985 with a Pioneer super tuner and it still sounds great. The a/c will need a charge to work again. The dash has 2 small cracks but is mostly blemish free with no warping. Tires have roughly 60% tread but true age is unknown. Handles well at highway speeds however. Chrome is shiny with no pitting and power sunroof works!
