1983 TOYOTA 4X4 SHORTBED The are millions of trucks for sale at any giving time. But try and find another 1983 Toyota Shortbed 4x4 available in this condition. This super neat pick-up runs and drives like it did in 83. Its super quick to start, tight steering, goes down the road straight and is plenty powerful for its size. The body is extremely straight, and almost no rust. It has just a few spots. The truck was bought new right here in San Antonio Texas, and the original papers are still in the glove box. The past owner was a bit of a engineer and felt the truck was under powered. So, he tastefully installed a 4.3 liter fuel injected Chevy Vortec V6 motor and transmission, which I feel is perfect. The transmission shifts great, the BFG tires look near new, brakes are responsive and all the original gauged work. The truck has, air conditioning, needs a charge, tilt wheel, power front disc brakes and power steering. This is a very rare truck for 2015 and its in very nice shape. Its get in and go! On Dec-19-15 at 12:00:20 PST, seller added the following information: I bought this truck from a window a few weeks ago, the past owner had pasted away. Every time I crawled under the truck for inspection, I was looking for rust. Today a man asked me about the four wheel drive system. I went and engaged the transfer case and it goes into gear and the front output is spinning and alined with the input on the front axle but the front drive shaft was missing. So I called the lady of the house and she let me dig through the garage today. I found the shaft, but only one part. The universal joint, shaft and male spines. The end with the female spines and universal joint is currently MIA, but may turn up. You might need to hit a junkyard. Thought I'd add this information.
