Vehicle Detail
1948 Chevrolet 3100 Five-WindowRare 1948 Chevy Deluxe Cab 3100. 6 cylinder, 4-speed. Starts right up and runs well. Engine rebuilt several years ago. The body is extremely nice and solid, as photos show--no dents anywhere. Excellent cab corners. Nice running boards. Very few marks of any kind. Good paint job a couple of years old. Chrome bumpers new, as are door handles, door panels, headliner, mirrors, wipers, seat cover, floor mat, heater switch and more. Average condition glass--some fogging around edge and star chip in lower right front. No cracks in any glass. Windows roll up and down as should. Doors fit well, open and close solidly. Metal added to floor. Thin in one area, but solid overall and excellent under and around seat, behind seat, cab corners, top, etc. Fuel gauge, charging gauge, speedometer appear to work. Water temp gauge seems to stay in same spot. New radial tires, with very nice hub caps. Solid wood box, as well as chassis/frame, as photos indicate. Headlights (bright and dim), tail light, parking lights, brake light all work. Tail light is new LED. Windshield wiper motor is original vacuum system. It works when not under load, but has infamous vacuum leak somewhere and won't pull the wipers across. Emergency brake lever is in place but not hooked up. Truck has been converted to 12 volt, with new battery installed. Extra wheel and spare included. The 1948 is a difficult 3100 to find, as you will note on this site. They came with one tail light in 1948, as this one has. A matching right tail light, new LED in box, is included should buyer want to add it. The heater was optional on the original 1948, and this truck has a heater. And originally, the wood box in '48 was painted black, as is this one. It's the very desirable 5-window. It is advertised outside of this auction and may be sold as such. Sold as is. Available for inspection. Payment by wire transfer, cashier's check or cash accepted.
